The Hatchery

*SPLAT*

A pale shriveled-up corpse plummeted to the ground, forever disregarded like a measly pebble on the road by its cold killers. The corpse was stiff, riddled with puncture wounds, bits of torn flesh, which further revealed bare unfunctional organs of what once was alive.

The cave, which was alive with life, was now dead silent. No movement could be adjudicated in its abyssal depths, all but one. Who was this lone adorably crazy figure that was still here in this spider hell hole? WHY IT'S ME YUIJI HERE!!!

Man! I feel like I haven't been here a long time even though I've been here a long time Ya know hahaha..but man oh marbles, I seriously feel like I'm going to die here like w-whoa haha.

As I thought this, multiple single strings of webs started to slowly hang down from the ceiling. They started out sparsely before gradually more and more began to follow suit.

They were resetting the trap. That meant...they knew something or someone was here...and that someone….

Was me.

Tap….tap...taptaptap….

Mono 1: DANGER RUN!!!!

Mono 2: DANGER!!!! FOOD INPUT IS EMPTY. NEED TO REFILL ASAP!!!!

Every fiber of my body was practically howling. The alarm bells ringing in my head were LOUD with distress. It was like a scary Christmas! Jingle bells, jingle bells, hell is coming my way~ hee hee hee.

But seriously though, this is waaaay too many. Taking these guys on was like a stupid kid stomping on a fire ants hill. Yea suicide ya know! HAHAHA I'd better jingle myself outta here!

Mono 1: GOOD PLAN!

Seems like the little voices in my head are also agreeing with me. WAAAH! I love you guys so much. Yep time to get outta here right now!

W-WHA!? WHY CAN'T I MOOOOOVE!!!

I repeatedly tried to move my body, but I was only swaying back and forth. It was like my feet were frozen or something. WHAT BUT HOW!? Could I have possibly gotten stuck by those wormy webs!?

No, that's impossible. I made sure to be suuuper duper cautious. I slowed down myself and steered clear of that trap like sweet syrup. MAN I'M HUNGRY. WAIT NO TIME FOR THAT.

I mean I was still alive and functional, and those crazy suckers haven't moved an inch even though they knew I was here, so that means I haven't been caught or anything. Neither did Hagrid's big tapping spider friend at the end of the tunnel was making a move, but why was my body frozen?

Well, it waaaaas a bit chilly down here, now that I think about it. I wonder if they have some type of cave coat or something. Haha, that'd be so cool! I'd be able to flaunt fur and style on these Arachna Freaks….. CAVE STYLE!!

Mono 1: FOCUS YA IDIOOOOT!!

R-RIGHT!?

'Come on body, GET A MOVE ON!!' As I was literally internally arguing with my body, I only received a trembling response. My skin felt alive as if various invisible forces were crawling all on my skin, even my stomach was flip-flopping repeatedly.

Taptap…...taptap….

The Arachnas stopped moving upon the change of sound. Their faded eyes turned slowly in my direction. I knew they couldn't see me, but they knew that I was there.

'Come on..move….Move...MOVE!!!!'

Now I was starting to beg myself to move. I felt incredibly anxious, like super duper anxious.

Something was seriously being set in motion. I kept my eyes trained on the spiders on the ceiling, it was as if they actually COULD see me.

Then…

TAPTAPTAP…..TAPTAPTAP…

The tapping changed again. This time much fiercer.

"Heok!?'

My breath hitched and my entire body stiffened even more.

The spiders….they had begun to move.

Slowly, they crept their way to every side of the tunnels. From my right to my left. Some that were stationed on the ceiling were making their way above my head. Slowly and carefully, I was being surrounded.

If I didn't run now, I knew it wouldn't be long before it would be too late.

I clenched my fist tightly. It was so tight that I felt the essence of blood drawing from my punctured hands.

'ha..ha ...come on...think...think...THINK!!! What should I do? oooh, what do I do?' I needed something to get me going, like a shock or something.

Mono 3: Pain….before….Fall….

The spiders were easing ever so closer. Sweat had begun to trickle down my forehead, and my stomach was clutching tightly. I was so close to double over in pain. I couldn't even hear myself think, only the sound of rushing blood and my pounding heart filtered through my ears. My skin felt hot, and my hands clammy.

Mono 3: Pain before Fall…

A spark of an idea pierced its way into my muddled thoughts. It seemed so ridiculous, but I had no means of being choosy now. This was gonna be super risky, but it was the only way to get my body up and running.

Mono 3: PAIN BEFORE FALL AHAHAHAHA!!!!

I had to literally knock some sense into myself. With my clenched fist, I slowly braced myself.

'Here goes nothing….. RISE AND SHINE BODY!!!

*CRACK* A loud sound of something hard hitting another surface resounded throughout the darkened halls. It was like a large rock hitting a solid surface.

OW! OWOWOWOWOWOW!!! THAT HURTS! THAT REALLY HURTS!!!!.

A burst of pain shot through my jaw like a bazooka. Not soon after, the bitter twang of an irony taste was pouring through my mouth, enveloping my tongue relentlessly. I felt my body tipping over, though I tried to catch myself. I was simply met with the jagged walls that further pierced and cut through my skin As I staggered sideways.

That bout of reality was enough, but I don't have time to mingle with it. Immediately I burst forward in speed. I felt it, those spiders were just about to jump on me, a second later, and I'd have been covered in them. Hagrid's spider just had to give the signal.

I didn't look back, I simply ran. Ran and ran, not stopping once.

`Just keep running, just keep running, just keep run-ning run-ing~" I sang that tune from a childhood movie I saw back on earth. I was so gonna have nightmares from this.

By some miraculous sense of "How the heck did I remember this?" I was right back in the presence of o'l Mr. Wall. Good to see ya Mr wall! I chanted and immediately bashed the already charred floor with more blue flames. I ignored the sudden bout of dizziness that accented me.

I brought my legs to my knees and simply sat there. My body had serious bits of tremors every now and then, my skin still felt as if those spiders were crawling on me, and I kept rubbing my arms.

'Whoa haha….I-I must have really been shaken up huh"

I brought out my hand, opening and clenching it repeatedly. The taste of iron swirled in my mouth. I spat it out, my nose scrunching up in distaste.

Once again I was back to square one….but alive nonetheless.

A long time had passed. Weeeell I guess it was a long time. Yeaaa not coming to terms with "time" here. But it felt like a long time.

My body has now returned to normal. Weeeell not so much, I guess slightly normal? I mean I still felt horribly unsafe and I hadn't eaten or drank any water since I've been down here. Plus, my body was riddled with various cuts and bruises, so "Normal" is a biiit of a far stretch.

Hooooweeever I can move my hand noooow tadaaaa...ehem. But man. What should I do now? I was seriously out of options, it was like those spiders have the upper hand in everything. I noticed during that boar episode, but that big guy actually could feel something moving. Forget hearing, it seemed as if it can sense space. Guess its senses are just that heightened.

But that sooo cool!!!! Is it like those old kung fu movies where there is a blind swordsman and he's like super OP, and could even tell if you're breathing! NO FAIR!! I WANT TO TRY THAT TOO!!.

However, actually going about it is a different story altogether. I slammed my head on the wall. This is really bummyville now.

If only I was the MC, then maybe I'd have some sort of power-up or go super Saiyan or something. Come on, fantasy world! Give me your elaborate theme of obvious uses. I raised my hands above my head and waited.

*Plink….Plink….Plink*

"....."

Nothing.

Only the annoyingly desirable sound of water that obviously wasn't drinkable.

Wait….Water?

I immediately jumped up and found the water source. Not far from my wall, water dripped repeatedly. I stepped through my blue flames, scared of fuel but they didn't burn me teehee, and grabbed a bit of it in my hand. I peered closer at the water.

'Come to think of it...there was a ravine of water before I came here…'

I remembered the disgusting black water that swirled around the ravine cliffside. It's possible that this Arachna hole was about the level at which the water ran. I'm gonna call it black muck.

Mono 3: LET….THERE BE...CHAOS!!! HEH HEH HEH...

My mouth stretched into a wide grin, it hurt very bad but I didn't care. A sudden idea popped in my head, one that could potentially get me out of this hell hole permanently.
