Chapter 7

"So... That house is yours." Eli asked.

Every time I remember it, it still hurts.

"Yes, I have lived so deceived; my mother hid from me that my father sent me letters and money." I answer, "Do you realize her mistake? He never ignored me, as she had made me believe.

Eli looks at me sadly and says, "Now you know, I'm glad your father dared to say it."

"My dad loves me; I always thought he didn't love me because I look like her."

"Now you know it's a lie; you are his only daughter, and he will always love you."

"He told me where the deeds to the house are; although I already have them, I also think I'll go to my gynecologist."

"Because?" he asks curiously.

"I haven't had my period."

"Pregnancy?" She responds, surprised.

I laugh and deny, "That would be almost impossible; you know why"

The reason was very simple: when I was 18, I went to a gynecologist. They did some “routine” tests, and they discovered that I had some problems with my uterus, from which they concluded that I would have problems getting pregnant.

"I remind you that they didn't say it was impossible."

"I'm not that clueless; I would have figured it out by now"

"I've seen you fuller lately," she said, laughing.

"Nice way to say 'fat,'" I say sarcastically.

"You know what I'm talking about, Juliett, don't dismiss it."

She had a little doubt, as little as she was. It was a small possibility.

"You know I take these kinds of things very seriously; I already made the appointment," she mentioned, smiling.

"Everything will be fine; now I have to go to work."

"Well, take good care of yourself," she declared, giving in.

I took her arm. "Could you put this away?"

"What is Juliett?" She says this curiously as I hand her a yellow envelope.

"This is very important to me, please."

"I'll keep it, I promise."

Sigh of relief. "Thank you," Eli says, giving me a big hug that leaves me breathless.

Juliette.

Today I felt stranger than normal, I couldn't concentrate, since one of my children was sick, my mother offered to take care of him for a few hours. And just today I had to look for a new girl, previously some brought her resume.

Ava stood next to me. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm worried, I'm fine."

"We'll take care of this, go with your kids," she insisted.

I shake my head and say, "Let's go with the last girl, and I'll leave later."

I walked up to one of the tables and there was a very beautiful girl.

"It can't be, tell me you're going to reject her," Leila murmurs, reaching my side.

I turn to her. "Why? She's an excellent candidate."

"Her mother was a psychopath, she killed many innocent people" she looks at her with disgust "she fooled everyone with her beauty and goodness. But behind that there was a monster, her daughter is probably like her.

"Nat has checked her background, she's definitely not like her mother." I roll my eyes. "She's the one, plus I got the boss's approval. Don't bother her."

This poor girl was hated by everyone in this town, she was impressed with the treatment they gave her.

I walked towards the table, Shelby immediately stood up when she saw me.

She gave him a smile “don't get up, calm down” He nods, she sits back down “I've checked your resume, you have a lot of experience.

"My aunt had a small restaurant and I helped her" she smiled, but immediately her smile faded. "Unfortunately, she had to close after what happened."

"I understand. If she hired you, would you start today?" I asked, looking at her.

"Of course, I would love to start as soon as possible," she says excitedly.

"Well, you're hired," she smiled. I got up, and she did the same: "You're what she was looking for.

"Really? I can't believe it" She said, so excited that she ended up being hugged. "You don't know what this means to me."

"Are you having a bad streak?" she asked him.

"My aunt is sick; she has cancer, and she won't be with me much time. I want her to enjoy the time she has left."

"She will be very proud of you," I responded, returning the hug. "Chiara and Ava will help you with any questions you have, she goes with them."

"Thank you." She thanked me again and left with my girls.

"Leila's gone," she declares, coming towards me.

"Did something happen to you?" she asked anxiously.

"No, Becca found her sister at a Motorcycle club."

She was still worried about my son, she had to check on him and leave as soon as possible.

Leila.

She knew the consequences of leaving the job, but she is my sister.

She came to the club, and some men looked at me with interest and others with lust.

"Where's Asher?" I ask the first man I see.

"What are you looking for with him?" He ask me

.

"I need to talk about something important."

He nods, pointing at it. I walked over to where he was. He looks at me and smiles.

"One of your boys is dating a minor. What the hell is wrong with them?" I said bluntly.

"Wait, what are you saying?" He looks at me, confused. "We don't accept minors; you must be mistaken," he said with a hoarse voice.

"I saw him walk into this club with her," I lied. I wasn't going to rat out Becca.

"Do you know his name? Or what was he like?" she asked.

"Zeus."

"Son of a bitch," she muttered.

He walked up to one of his friends and seemed to be arguing. The other man ran up some stairs and disappeared into the shadows.

"They're going to bring them in, and we'll fix this," he said, annoyed.

It didn't take long for my sister and Zeus to appear; my anger was so great that I walked towards them, and my hand shot into the idiot's cheek.

"Son of a bitch," he said, annoyed. "

My sister pushed me." What the hell is wrong with you?

"You're cynical; he was so worried about you that I thought you had been kidnapped."

"What I do is not your problem," she replied, annoyed.

"I am your sister, and you are a Minor. You are my responsibility."

"You're not my sister; did you think I'd never find out?"

"It's true, but to me, you are my sister." I feel an intense desire to cry. "I made the mistake of pampering you, because I wanted to compensate you for the mistreatment your father gave you."

"I murdered a man to protect you, yet you apparently don't care; this is the life you want. Go ahead.

For me, she was my baby, my pride."
