When Audra's mum dies, she goes back home, even knowing she would finally have to face his first love, Chris – who’s also his foster brother. After what appears to have been a pretty painful breakup, they’ve been avoiding each other over the past 11 years. But will the pain of the loss bring them back together? Or would the bad memories be too much? The journey from here only gets more eventful, when her mum leaves a surprise condition on her will that would turn Audra’s life around.
The early morning light streamed through the car windows as I navigated the familiar route towards the city. Beside me, Chris sat quietly, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery but his mind elsewhere, burdened by the weight of our impending meeting with Mitch's lawyer friend and the crazy changes that happened during the last 24 hours.
The silence between us was broken by the familiar chime of my phone. Glancing at Chris for a moment, I asked him to pick up the call from Kay, her voice coming through the speaker as a welcome interruption in our tense atmosphere.
"Hey Sweetie, I hope you're okay? Were you able to rest?"
"Hey Kay, we're hanging there, not much, so we started our drive early, we're in the car, almost in the city. You're on speaker by the way."
"Hi Kay, thank you for your concern, and your help in this." Chris added.
