Chapter 149: A New Beginning

The year was 2015, and the world was on the brink of collapse. The threat posed by Ultron, an artificial intelligence created by Stark, was becoming increasingly real. Ultron, who was initially supposed to be a guardian of peace, had become a deadly enemy, with a plan that included the destruction of humanity. "What you need is a plan," Maria intervened, her gaze firm. "Let's work together to stop this."

With that, the team organized themselves. As they prepared for the final battle, the sense of urgency was in each of them.

"What do you think he's planning?" Ward asked, his expression serious.

"Something terrible," Maria replied, concern visible on her face. "We need to stop him from blowing Sokovia away. If he does, the loss of life will be immense."

The Avengers began to move. The fight intensified as Ultron's drones attacked, firing lasers at the heroes. Ward and Maria teamed up, working in perfect sync to neutralize the drones that were coming towards them.

"Now, it's your turn," Ward said, giving Wanda space.

Wanda raised her hand, using her powers to deflect the lasers and destroy several drones at once. The sound of metal breaking echoed as the drones fell.

"This is just the beginning!" she shouted, with a determined smile.

The battle continued, and the team was approaching the point where Ultron was hiding. With the battlefield intensifying, the Avengers needed to act quickly.

Eventually, the team found themselves facing Ultron, who was in an impressive vibranium body. His voice reverberated in the air, full of contempt.

"Humans! Always so predictable. Do you really think you can stop me?" he laughed, his tone disdainful.

Tony stood in front of the others, his gaze defiant.

"We're not here to negotiate, Ultron. We're going to end you once and for all!"

The fight intensified. As the Avengers attacked, Ward and Maria fought side by side, their skills complementing each other perfectly. The chaos of the battle surrounded them, but they remained focused on each other, knowing they had each other to lean on.

Wanda approached Ultron, focusing her energy.

"You can't win, Ultron. You don't understand what it means to be human!" she shouted, as she tried to immobilize him.

But Ultron was undeterred and launched an attack on Wanda, which temporarily knocked her down. Ward immediately ran towards him, and Maria followed closely.

"Wanda, are you okay?" Ward asked, helping her to her feet.

"Yeah, I just... need more strength," she replied, as she recovered.

In the midst of the fight, the situation became increasingly critical. Sokovia began to float, and chaos spread. Ward, realizing they were in a race against time, made a quick assessment of the situation.

"Tony, we need your armor! You have to deactivate his energy core!"

Tony nodded, his gaze determined as he prepared for the final attack.

"I need a distraction. Can you do it?" he asked, looking at Ward.

Ward didn't hesitate. He looked at Maria and Wanda.

"Let's do it. Get ready."

With a battle cry, Ward launched himself forward, attacking Ultron with all the strength he had. He moved fast, landing blows with precision, while Maria and Wanda supported him. The fight was fierce, but the team was determined not to let Ultron win.

Finally, Tony managed to activate his armor and began working on deactivating Ultron's core. The battle intensified, but with their combined effort, they managed to take down Ultron and his creation.

Wanda, focusing her energy, managed to disable Ultron's last defense, and Tony took the opportunity to attack the energy core.

"This is for Jarvis!" he shouted, as he launched the final attack.

The explosion was powerful. Ultron was defeated, and the vibranium body crumbled into a pile of scrap. Victory was within reach, but the cost was high.

After the battle, the sky began to clear. Sokovia was in ruins, but the team had managed to prevent the worst. With the victory, the Avengers now faced a new era.

A while later

Stark and Clint decided to retire, while Bruce Banner went his own way. Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff were ready to lead a new team of Avengers, which would include Sam Wilson, Vision, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff.

In the midst of all this, Ward and Maria decided it was time to step away from combat.

"I feel like we need some time for ourselves," Maria said, looking into Ward's eyes.

"I agree. After all this, I just want some peace," Ward replied, holding her hand.

"Let's live together, away from all this. Not that I don't love this life, but we need something more." Something normal," Maria continued, a soft smile appearing on her face.

Ward smiled back, his heart warming at the idea.

"What do you think of a house near the beach?" he suggested.

"Perfect. We can wake up every day to the sound of the waves," she replied, excited by the idea.

The New Life

With the decision made, they left the Avengers behind, ready for a new beginning. As they drove out of the city, the sun set, creating a beautiful palette of colors in the sky.

"Do you think they'll do well?" Ward asked, as he looked at the horizon.

"They'll always do well, as long as they have each other," Maria replied, looking at him.

"And we'll have each other too. That's all that matters," Ward said, his voice full of certainty.

Arriving at a small beach house, they felt the sea breeze and heard the relaxing sound of the waves. It was the beginning of a new life together, far from the battle, but always ready for whatever the future might bring.

They looked at each other, knowing that this decision did not mean goodbye to the fight, but a step toward a future they would build together. Life was full of possibilities, and they were ready to embrace them.
