Chapter 23 - The Genesis pt.2

"I'll explain on the way, first you need to head to the center of the forest", Phi urged her.

"Haaa, fine fine", Scarlett reluctantly agreed. Since Phi thought that this was important she'll just humor her.

*whoosh*

Scarlett started dashing threw the forest trees. Leaping here and running there.

After about 5 minutes Scarlett abruptly stops, landing on a tree branch.

"Is your stamina that bad that your already tired?"

Phi's question thoroughly offended her.

"That wasn't the reason!"

"Then what was.."

Without the least bit of embarrassment, she explained,

"I don't know to to get to the center of the forest."

Phi was speechless.

Couldn't you have said that sooner?

Fine it was Phi's fault for thinking to highly of her.

"Your already heading in the right direction just keep going",

As Phi was from Astro she new the ins and outs of the area, if she said go left Scarlett wouldn't go right.

With that information, Scarlett started moving again.

"YOUR GOING THE OPPOSITE WAY!"

She rubbed her nose and turned around before continuing like nothing happened.

"So can you tell me about this Genesis or whatever now?", she questioned while still on the move.

Silence

"Phi?", she urged.

"Oh right, ehem, the Genesis happens every 5 years. On this specific day, the forest of Astro welcomes new life", just as she was about to continue Scarlet cut her off.

"What do you mean, 'welcomes new life'?"

"I was going to explain before you interrupted me. New rule DONT talk until I'm finished explaining."

Scarlett obiediently stayed quiet.

Phi continued,

"What I mean by 'welcomes new life' is that this is the birthing day for spirit beast. Cultivators from all continents head to Astro In hoping of finding there 'bond' and if they can't, contracting a strong spirit beast is also a plus. Usually only people under 20 head to Astro, since that's the recommended age to find your bond. Everyone has a bond though it is uncommon that you could actually find yours."

Scarlett ran at high speed through the forest. If one saw her all they would see is an after image or maybe feel the gust of wind.

"Didn't you say people from all continents would come? Why don't I see anyone?"

In all honestly she hadn't seen a single soul. That's not included those child abusers she encountered when she first teleported into the forest area.

Full of sympathy and a bit gloatingly, Phi responded,

"That's because your all the way in the outskirts of the forest. Do run faster before it starts. Judging from the position of the sun…. I'd say you have about 2 hours to cross more than 200 miles."

Scarlett almost stumbled when she heard that.

"There's no way I could cross that much distance even with my full speed. Ughh, why don't you just fly me over there Phi, please!!!"

Scarlet new her limits. At most she could, probably cross 100 miles with her top speed in 2 hours and even that was pushing it.

"I don't want to, hmph."

Scarlett only new Phi for less than a day, but she had to say, no one could beat her in the way her attitude kept changing. One minute she was serious then the next she could pout like a child.

"Then might as well go home. I could just come back the next time."

Scarlett shrugged and stopped running. It didn't really matter to her if she found her bond now or later. Not to long ago she didn't even know a 'bond' existed.

A bit out of no where, Phi brought up,

"Did you forget? Your darkness affinity manifested."

Scarlett didn't know how that could have anything to do with her current situation so she just stayed silent and waited for her to continue.

As expected, a second later Phi spoke again,

"Though I'm not exactly sure how, when I was traveling Orion with Lucia, I witnessed your father teleport himself with his darkness affinity."

This definitely piqued Scarlett's interest, while at the same time reminding her of the oh so obvious solution.

Teleportation stone!

Couldn't she just use that to teleport to the center of the forest?

Blocking out Phi, Scarlett recalled her geography lessons with Elle and determined the coordinates of the center of the forest.

She grabbed a teleportation stone from her ring and wrote the coordinate with her pen.

She didn't even waste a second and crushed the stone and felt her feet lift off the floor.

As she felt the familiar suction feeling, Scarlett heard Phi's voice cursing her in her head.

"Stupid child, teleportation stones never work properly in Astro….."

Just as she heard that, she felt as if her body was going to be shred apart. It was like some force was pushing and pulling her body in all different directions.

'Crapp…..'
