Chapter 22 - The Genesis

Scarlett heaved a sigh of relief that she didn't ask her to get revenge. If she had asked, Scarlett would have felt obligated to do it because her mother had already given her too much.

She put down the letter where she found it and walked over to the covered up dress next to it.

She opened it with curiosity, to find a gorgeous black dress. It had a pretty corset top with a low neckline that would show of your assets, the sleeves were a little puff up with lace in the seems, and the dress flowed out above, what should be the height of your knee.

"Wow.."

This dress was just her style. Simple but pretty. Obviously it wasn't something she could wear at the moment but in a couple years.

When she unzipped the bag fully to take out the dress, a small bag fell out on her feet.

"Siiiii-",she inhaled a deep breathe when she felt pain in her toes.

She put down the dress and picked up the small bag to look inside, while making sure her foot was fine.

A small plain black box, twice the size of her hand laid silently inside.

Inside it laid a plain black mask that would cover the nose and mouth, with a small note on top that read.

'Pretty girls always attract unwanted attention'

This was something that Scarlett had to agree on. It's just that she had no plans of going anywhere anytime soon so she didn't think of getting a mask yet.

She picked it up to put on only to find another mask below it. Intrigued she probed the box with her spiritual conscious only to find that there were thousands of white and black masks inside the tiny box.

"Is this an infinity box Elle talked about?! Just for masks?"

She closed the box still in shock and placed it back.

"What kind of person would fill an infinity box with masks….just crazy", she mumbled to her self while decided to change her outfit.

Ten minutes later little Scarlett stood in front of the mirror dressed in tan dress pants and a plain black t-shirt with a queer look on her face.

"Was I always so pale?"

The last time she looked in the mirror her skin was white and look beautiful and though her skin still looked beautiful, it had a sickly pale color to it.

"My skin looks exactly like the man in the photo with mom, " she said pinching her skin,

"…weird….oh well."

Draping a windbreaker on, she pulled out a mask from the box and put it on.

She nodded with satisfaction.

She didn't bother to check out the other room as her mother gave her a run down of all the pills, talismans and such in the letter, plus she really just wanted to go home and sleep in her bed.

She could check out the other room another day.

'How do I exit the dragon space?'

Just as she uttered the word 'exit' in her mind she felt the world spin then with a *bam* Scarlett fell straight onto a boulder in the forest.

"Cough,cough, shit I don't remember seeing a huge freaking rock placed here…", she cursed in her childish voice, getting to her feet.

"So I guess all I need to do is think or will it and I could exit and enter as I like." She didn't bother to test out her theory as she was pretty sure she was right. She lifted up her head to take a look around.

The forest still looked the same as it was before, huge roots and all. She didn't want to spend anymore time in the forest, as she wasn't sure how long she had spent inside the space.

With a thought and the use of her spirit conscious, a teleportation stone and an engraving pen appeared in her hand. Once she finished writing, she exerted a little force in her and was about to crush the stone when a voice sounded scaring her so much she almost dropped her stone.

"NO…. You can't leave yet!!!", Phi's voice shouted in her mind, almost frightening her to death.

Patting her chest, with an annoyed look she responded,

"Phi, don't do that! You scared me!!"

Patting her chest she continued, "Sigh, why can't I leave Phi, I'm so sleep deprived I could cry."

The truth is cultivators at her level could go with out sleep for about a week or two, but that wasn't not important to the lazy little girl.

Phi's voice rang out again in her mind, albeit a little awkwardly this time,

"Ha..ha, sorry I saw that you were going to leave so I have to stop you. But you mustn't leave yet!"

"I asked why Phi!", Scarlett sounded impatient now so Phi hurriedly responded.

"Because the Genesis is happening in a few hours!!! You obviously have to stay!"

Scarlett tilted her head, a bit confused as to how this was more important the going home.

"The Genesis? What's that?!"
