Crusader

(Lily POV)

Inside of Klaus's tower, Zatanna was casting Patronus charm on Klaus. While he was sitting and meditating insisted of her cat Patronus.

"What are you two doing?"

"Lily you're back! How's the world doing?"

"Well church is sending crusaders, but everything else is fine. What are you two doing?"

"Well, we finally figured it out, the light element."

"You did?"

Light element is something we tried to figure out ever since I discovered dark element. We don't know everything and over the years some of our theories have proven to be wrong.

But the light element is something that avoided us for so long. We know that everyone has at least has a connection to one element except for light and dark I am the only person that we found who could control the dark element freely, not just use it through arithmetic spells or by changing negative emotions in other elements.

"So what did you discover?"

"Well, we managed to feel the light element temporarily."

"I guess that is why you were inside of a Patronus?"

"Yes. It is only temporary. I can only feel it while meditating insisted of the Patronus. Actually, it helped us come up with a theory of why you are the only one that can sense dark and we only managed to sense light while inside of a Patronus. Well, I say light and dark but those aren't accurate names for it I don't think I can come up with accurate ones..."

"Dad you are rambling."

"Ah yes sorry. Where was I? Right, right. Well as I said Patronus is a light spell filled with positive emotion, it has no destructive power so dark is completely absent in it. This is why I could sense it. Anyway, your connection to the dark comes from a spell that is completely pure dark."

"The killing curse gave me a connection to the dark. But there are other spells that are pure dark why are they giving people connections."

"Well, the killing curse is only one of those spells that is soul magic. That spell attacks a soul, but there is more to it. If someone hit me with the killing curse now I wouldn't have a connection to the dark. No, I think that the ritual you did combined with that spell is the reason you can use the dark freely."

After Klaus's explanation, I remembered something. While it has been a long time I still remember my son and I can't wait to see him again. But what I remember now is the reason why we went into hiding, the prophecy.

Dumbledore told it to us after we said we are going to live the country to protect our family. I still would have left but he almost threatened to tell the ministry about it so they would stop us from leaving the country.

Anyway in the prophecy: the power he knows not or something like that is mentioned. Could it be dark? That would be ironic dark magic defeating the Dark Lord.

"Klaus this connection would my son have it too?"

"Your son? Oh, right future. Well if he was hit by the killing curse, I would say yes."

I nod at that.

"So what did you discover about the light element?"

"Well, I discovered that I have been using it a lot. Most crafting magic is using light, if dark is destruction light is creation. So Alchemy, potions, enchanting and so on. But most impotent for me illusions and transfiguration are both light while charms tend to be dark more than not. Well I say this but most things we examined aren't pure light or dark, but one of them is dominant. We still didn't find something that is perfectly balanced."

While his explanation was okay one thing confused me. "How did you feel the dark?"

He looked like a child that was caught with a hand in a cookie jar.

"Well, we caste fiendfyre in that tank." He showed me a round container made of some kind of metal. "Then I put my hand in it for a while to feel the dark. Don't worry my hand grows back quickly." He finished with a smug smile, I could only facepalm.

(Third POV)

Somewhere in the deserts of Africa, a man in a crusader's armour stood in front of the tower peaking from underneath the desert.

"I will unlock the power hidden inside of you."

After those words were heard from the tower man started to scream and his skin started to turn red.

After a while he slowly stood up " I feel so powerful, I feel alive."

"Good now free me, my horseman!" Came an order for the tower.

But the man resisted "Free you. Only to become your servant. Never." The man turned to walk away when the mental attack from the tower came.

It seems to last hours but the man finally managed to push the attack back. Only he fell without any energy to keep going.

Two figures emerged from the desert and started walking towards the man.

"Well, that was interesting. What do we do with this one?"

"We take him with us back home. If we are lucky we might be able to use him to heal the master."

"You were home recently how is the master?"

"That injury one-eyed gave him still isn't healing, nobody knows how long he is going to last."

And like that, they started carrying the man away from the tower.
