Bisky glanced at Ronnel, opened the magazine, and refused: "I won't stay, I'll leave tomorrow. As for Wing, don't tell him—he's basically used to it."
She casually threw her backpack beside her. "Help me put all the magazines in there."
Seeing Bisky's request, Ronnel knew she was determined to leave this time, so he couldn't help but sigh softly. Passing the entrance examination not only signified being qualified, but also meant separation.
Having been with Bisky for more than half a year, Ronnel had grown used to her teachings.
"Why, reluctant?" Bisky looked sideways at Ronnel, a smile flashing in her eyes.
Half a year may not seem long, but it was the first time Bisky had spent so much time teaching an apprentice— even Wing had only been under her guidance for four months. And this apprentice, Ronnel, had truly satisfied her. She thought her time spent on him was well worth it.
"Yeah, I am!"
Without hesitation, Ronnel answered honestly.
Seeing his straightforwardness, Bisky raised an eyebrow, her focus shifting entirely from the magazine to him.
"You've worked hard to teach me, Master Bisky," Ronnel said, before presenting a big gift according to the rules of Shingen-ryu, catching her completely off guard.
He truly appreciated Bisky's guidance. Without it, it would have taken Ronnel years to reach his current level. His gratitude was sincere.
"..."
The room fell silent. Even Bisky, who had weathered over fifty years of life's challenges, felt a little touched.
"What are you doing! I'm not dead, and it's not like you'll never see me again. If you need my help, just call me anytime!" Bisky snapped, rolling the magazine into a stick and tapping him on the shoulder, her voice tinged with mock anger.
"Remember, if I see you slacking off and your strength declines when we meet again, don't blame me for being harsh! And as for the Hunter license—as a student of Shingen-ryu, if my disciple doesn't pass the Hunter exam, I'd be so embarrassed to even talk about it!"
Ronnel looked up with a grin after being scolded. "Master, can I make a small suggestion?"
"Go ahead."
"Next time you lecture someone, can you not do it in that cute, girlish form? It's hard to take you seriously."
Bisky: "...No way!!!"
Despite Ronnel's teasing and the bump on his head from Bisky's magazine, the atmosphere felt a little less somber. Still, it couldn't stop Bisky from leaving.
The next day, after a quiet farewell, Bisky left Heavens Arena without telling anyone.
Ronnel looked around the tidy, now empty room and sighed.
"That's just how she is. No one can change her mind once it's set," Wing said quietly, standing nearby.
He added to himself, "No one, except for maybe...gems."
"Has Bisky left? What a shame, I wanted to go shopping with her today," Shizuku remarked, adjusting her black-rimmed glasses. The separation didn't affect her much, but she did seem disappointed that her shopping buddy was gone.
"So, Wing, what's your plan now?" Ronnel asked, wrapping his arm around Shizuku's shoulder.
"Me? I've been here long enough. I'm planning to take Zushi to train hard, then come back and challenge Heavens Arena again next year."
As Wing straightened his shirt, he smiled at Ronnel. "What about you? You don't seem like the type to sit still after winning the championship."
"Of course not. Lately, I've been focused on training, fighting in the ring, and entering competitions. But I haven't spent much time with Shizuku," Ronnel said with a soft smile, glancing at her.
Shizuku blinked in response.
"So, I'm planning to take Shizuku on a trip for the next six months and spend some time exploring the world."
Since leaving the streets of Meteor City together, apart from visiting several cities, the only place they'd seen was Heavens Arena. Now, Ronnel wanted to show Shizuku more of the world, and experience the life of a Hunter himself.
"That sounds like a great idea," Wing nodded.
"Traveling not only relieves the stress of constant battles, but it could also inspire you and help strengthen your abilities."
Ronnel, true to his nature, took Wing's advice to heart. After talking a while longer, he and Shizuku waved goodbye to Wing and Zushi as they left the arena to begin their own training journey.
On the airship, Ronnel gazed out the window as Heavens Arena gradually faded into the distance. "I'm finally leaving~"
He felt nostalgic about the time he'd spent there and pulled out a travel magazine.
"It says there's a magical waterfall in the Republic of Padokea. What do you think about making that our first stop, Shizuku?"
But when he looked over, Shizuku was already fast asleep.
