Hunter x Hunter (HxH): Seeking Immortality

Elias Deville was an odd individual, with some unfortunate circumstances befalling him. After a certain incident, he was never the same. After he turned 18, he immediately joined the military and seemed to have turned his life around, and was all around living a fulfilling life... until that fateful day... Note: This is not a system novel. Perhaps, I might explore other worlds... and if you want a spoiler, read the very last bit. *Cover is not mine *No characters from Hunter x Hunter are mine SPOILER BELOW! Be warned. . . . . . I am planning on having the MC fuse with Meruem and re-reincarnate into the past. At that time, he will have some changes and do things differently.

Hatsu X Plans

Veld flared up his aura, activating Ren and attempting to make a change through Hatsu, which was quite easy due to all of the meditation and training of Ren. 'The leaf moved. It seems that I am a manipulator. I hadn't expected to become a Specialist, but I'd be lying if I said I weren't slightly disappointed. However, being a Manipulator is quite good, it suits me well. Not to mention the fact that Manipulators and Conjurors have the highest chance at becoming Specialists later in life. Now, time to make a Hatsu!'

----

{Author's Note: This chapter is all about creating and tailoring Veld's two new Hatsus and some other thoughts and plans. Might very well be boring to many of you, especially since this is entire chapter is in his thoughts. I wasn't planning on releasing a chapter this weekend, but I realized how extensive my ideas for his two main Hatsus have gotten, so I decided to give you guys a bonus chapter, explaining Veld's new Hatsus in-depth instead of creating half-baked ones. So... look forward to some action on Monday! This chapter ended up being about 2400 words... so yeah.}

{P.S. I'm gonna say this to make it crystal clear. Veld Aluwa Revan (previously Elias Deville) is calculative and doesn't commit any emotions before he has everything figured out, so he might come across as apathetic towards everything. He will actually care about those he chooses to side with. He was a loyal soldier, not a brainless killing machine. Now, do enjoy!}

'But first, let's make some vows before I do so in order to increase the reward gained because of apprehension and uncertainty... after all, I don't know what I will be capable of before I create my Hatsu, so creating the vows now will generate a greater reward, as the benefits of the vow are based off of the mental state of the user and what is important to them. For example, if someone doesn't care about dying, a vow like "I must do this, else I will die" will have little to no effect, but for someone who holds his life most dear, it will have an immense effect. My vows shall be;

"I shall prevent Gon and Killua from becoming friends, else I will lose 1 year of lifespan."

"I shall kill Kurapika after he kills Uvogin but before the trade of Chrollo Lucilfer for what I would assume would be me and Killua, else I will lose 10 years of lifespan."

"I must kill Hisoka after the Chrollo writes the fortunes for each member but before Hisoka and Chrollo fight to the death, else I will lose 20 years of lifespan." (End of vows)

I will try to get Shalnark killed, as he is a Manipulator like me, using his death to mark Hisoka's betrayal. It would be a good opportunity to act right after the fortunes are written, because Hisoka uses "Texture Surprise" to hide his betrayal, so I would most likely be able to convince the other members to help me kill Hisoka by telling them to use Gyo. I do have an interest in joining the Phantom Troupe, so I will try to do so before the Underground Auction Arc begins. Otherwise, I would attempt to join the Phantom Troupe after Shalnark dies and they have a greater need for a Manipulator. If I accomplish all of these things, which I would attempt to do even without the vows, then it will make many of my future goals easier to accomplish.

So... my two future plans regarding the Phantom Troupe are: Join the Phantom Troupe before the Underground Auction Arc, to have higher trust of the Phantom Troupe members, OR join after Hisoka and Kurapika are dead (and hopefully Shalnark) because they need new members, and, most importantly, the trade for my and Killua for Chrollo Lucilfer can take place. Most likely, I will choose the second option.

{Author's Note: This Hatsu creation section will be about 1,400 words, which takes up the vast majority of the chapter.}

'For my Hatsu... since I'm a Manipulator, I will obviously be manipulating others, and having certain activation conditions, such as needing to use a physical object, will increase the power of the Nen ability. I shall base my Manipulation Hatsu off of another ability which I find useful. Don't worry, I had already planned this all out during the two years I had spent meditating and the 10 months I spent training Ren.

"Uncle Sam" is a coercive-type manipulation Hatsu. Once certain circumstances are met, all physical limitations naturally imposed by the body are lifted, and the affected individual(s) will carry out the orders in the most effective manner possible even if it means death.

Now for the conditions for use. If I don't add any conditions for use, the power will be rather limited or extremely aura-costly. Almost every Nen user adds conditions to their Nen abilities except for possibly Meruem, who has an astounding aura capacity. Adding conditions will not only increase the power of the ability, but also reduce its cost. Conditions:

- It can only be activated in conjunction with "Parasitical Throwing Needles." This condition does not apply to self-manipulation.

-Self-manipulation cannot be used if all needles are under cooldown

- It will not alter the thoughts and actions of individuals affected by this ability until one or multiple circumstances are met, such as a verbal phrase, "Execute Order 66." This and the orders-to-be-followed are determined beforehand by me writing the conditions and orders on a piece of paper titled "Uncle Sam Says." It may be burned afterwards without affecting the required conditions.

- If the conditions are left blank, the manipulated individual(s) will immediately carry out the orders written down. If there are no orders written down either, the victim will simply collapse to the ground, unable to move.

-Those manipulated by this ability cannot use Nen. However, those controlled by the special black needle can use basic abilities from the Enhancement category, such as "Enhancing Strength" or "Enhancing Speed." After any Enhancement is used, the manipulated person dies after 3 minutes.

-While manipulated individuals do retain memories, only basic information can be extracted such as "How many soldiers are there?" but not "What are all soldier's positions?" The question(s) must be concise and easy to answer.

- Manipulated individuals lose most intelligence once the conditions are met, except for myself.

- If I am manipulating myself, all physical limitations naturally imposed by the body will be lifted, but I can only use abilities from the Enhancer category and "Parasitical Throwing Needles." I will enter an "auto-pilot" mode (which determines the best course of action to complete the objective with the full breadth of knowledge and processing power of my brain) unless otherwise specified, and instead of conditions for activation, conditions for deactivation must be written down on a piece of paper titled "Deactivation Conditions," else the Hatsu will only end once I run out of Nen, in which case I will naturally lose consciousness.

{End of conditions for "Uncle Sam"}

The Conjuration ability named "Parasitical Throwing Needles," generates 1-5 needles in the left or right hand, or the mouth, charged with however much aura I spawn them. The needles can slightly adjust direction of travel and have a sudden boost of speed proportionate to the amount of aura spent. They can also bend every which way like a worm. More importantly, once the needles pierce the target, they can fully enter into the target's body and move around, causing more damage. I specifically chose this conjuration ability so that I could more efficiently deal with Nen users with defensive Hatsus, as this ability focuses on piercing damage. {Author's Note: I might change this if someone comes up with a better name. If you guys would prefer something like "Sentient Senbon" then put your ideas in paragraph comments.}

Conjurors would make their needles as light as a feather and as strong as tungsten, freely twisting and turning without loosing speed, capable of stopping mid-air and having a turbo speed boost. I can't do that because I have 60% compatibility with the Conjuration category, but I still think that creating this ability is worth it. Although it isn't a super strong ability, it is still a rather good one. I have about as much talent as Gon and Killua based on my progress in training Nen for these past 10 months, not to mention that I have a much more precise control over Nen, reducing the inefficiency. Instead of being wasteful with aura like Gon, where he had to spend 4000 aura to achieve 500 aura worth of an attack, I, currently, would use 750 aura to achieve an attack worth 500 aura.

It might be a waste of potential on other people's eyes, but I'd rather be well-rounded and never caught unprepared. What's the use of potential if you're dead? Even though I only have 60% compatibility with the Conjuration category, the conditions that I will place on it will increase its power enough to make up for that. I would always be guaranteed a weapon. One that I could use, as I had training with various throwing weapons such as needles and throwing knives in my past life.

Lastly, as I can conjure up the "Parasitical Throwing Needles" at any time (such as mid-swing,) this ability can serve as a surprise attack, especially if I can trick my enemies into mistakenly believing that I am an Emitter, as they wouldn't expect me to have a Conjuration ability— Emitters have a compatibility of 40% with the Conjuration category. One of the needles will be special in that it has better maneuverability and higher power.

Now, the conditions of my Hatsu are as follows:

- There is a maximum of 5 active needles at one time.

- The needles must kill a target before they can be retrieved or deactivated. However, I can forcibly deactivate the needle in exchange for a cooldown of 24 hours (1 day) before I can use that needle again (which reduces the maximum active needles by one).

- If the special needle kills a target and moves on to the next, it will operate on the same orders initially written down unless stated otherwise. For example, "After the first manipulated individual dies, the next one will operate on these orders: XXXXX"

- All needles must be retrieved or deactivated to be used again. However, the special needle is able to move to another target once it kills the initial target. It can do so, endlessly, until the aura initially supplied runs out. If this needle is forcibly deactivated, the cooldown is 72 hours (3 days).

- The special needle is colored black. {Yes, this will alert Veld's enemies, and that is precisely why this needle's power will have a boost.}

- I must supply an initial amount of aura which the needle operates on until retrieved or deactivated. If the aura supplied to the needle runs out, the needle is counted as "forcibly deactivated." However, if I physically touch an individual with the special black needle inside them, I can resupply it aura at the ratio of 5 aura spent per 1 aura stored.

- If used in conjunction with "Uncle Sam," this ability may feed off of the Nen of the target instead of using its own.

- If a needle is deflected, it can only be deactivated after 5 seconds have passed.

- If the needle is broken by the enemy, an additional 24 hours are added to the cooldown time of the needle, increasing it to 48 hours, or 96 hours for the black needle.

- The needle must make its way to either the heart or the brain of the target for "Uncle Sam" to work. Then, the needle will enter into a dormant state, drastically decreasing Nen consumption to almost zero and enter a state of In. This will make it almost undetectable, and allow it to exist for a substantial amount of time.

- The ability activation conditions are directed towards the needle itself, which then proceeds to manipulate the victim according to the orders given. Before the requirements for activation are met, the needle lies in a dormant state, with In (an advanced form of Zetsu) active. This means that individuals will not be under manipulation until the requirements are met.

{End of conditions for "Parasitical Throwing Needles"}

Now that I think about it, I could make preparations for the future. For example, I would use a needle on Kurapika before he learns Nen, as that would be the optimal and most opportune time to do so, allowing me to kill him at any time. Furthermore, the chances of him detecting it are low should I prepare a neurotoxin that will prevent him from feeling the insertion of the needle, as who would think to look inside their cranium for no reason at all?

His teacher most likely wouldn't notice the needle inside his head as it is hidden inside the brain, which makes it impossible to see with Gyo, especially with the fact that it would be under In. Most other detection methods wouldn't work as well, especially since it is in a dormant state, so he wouldn't be under the state of "manipulation," so Nen abilities that detect harmful statuses wouldn't detect it.

Lastly, I want to create an Emitter Hatsu like the portal ability of pirate boxer of "Razor and his 14 Devils" in Greed Island or the "Hide and Seek" ability of Knov in the Chimera Ant Arc. I know it isn't good to copy the abilities of others, as that would limit its power. That's why it will be my own ability.

Hmm. I shouldn't create this ability now, but it should be done at least before I intend to act against Hisoka. Perhaps I can get a 2 for 1 kill by having Kurapika next to Hisoka, and order the special black needle to kill Kurapika. Then, as it shoots out of his head, I would create a portal that leads to Hisoka's neck, catching him off guard and successfully eliminating him. Yes... I shall try to do that.

As for Enhancer Hatsus, no. I won't bother with that until later as well. At most, it would be "Enhance Physical Strength and Speed" and "Hyper Regeneration." Alright, that was a lot of thinking. Time to test my new Hatsus out and then train my instant aura output!'
