New Bastion

Jake wanted to start his adventure in Yaros but also wanted to be prepared.

From the materials available in the school, he knew most about New Bastion. Though there are ten nations in Tarro, only one human city is located in Yaros.

Likewise, there are other cities but in areas that are near to other races.

Though it is called a city, New Bastion is much larger than normal, after all, it has to accommodate awakeners from different nations of the entire world.

As humans, most awakeners chose the race of humans as they entered Yaros. So, it is the biggest settlement the people of Tarro have in Yaros.

Not every awakener would be in the city as higher level awakeners would be able to start gaining experience and abilities back on Tarro and those are the ones that are truly required by them.

As new ones pop up, the old ones disappear, leaving room for the newbies to grow and develop until they are ready to do so in Tarro.

Jake looked through the city, remembering the details of the city that were told by the teachers in the school.

He explored every part of the outer district. It is filled with everything one needs when they are low-level.

He couldn't enter the Inner district, as it is restricted.

The city is divided into three districts. The outer district, the inner district, and the core district.

The outer district is where Jake was spawned and where he would re-spawn if he died. As of now, he didn't have enough merits or reputation with the city to enter the Inner or Core districts.

Only the ones who have earned sufficient merit points can enter the region. Merits can be earned by completing certain missions allocated from the mission hall. This hall is available in both Outer and Inner districts.

The auction house is also found in the Inner district. The best craftsmen would live here and so the products that are sold in the shops are of high quality compared to the ones in the outer district.

The beginners have no use of high-level items or high-end products. They would end up getting robbed if they tried to use them. Moreover, most items would have level restrictions, so getting them would be a waste.

This is like a rewarding system implemented by the top brass, who live in the core district.

The core district doesn't have much commercial usage but mostly serves as a residential area and administration area.

Unlike the auction house located in the Inner district, the auction house in the core district is pretty exclusive. It only opens if there is something rare that needs to be sold. Unless you are either a member living in the core district or invited by one, you can't enter this auction.

This auction is where blank upgrade stones are sold, if they were ever sold. Many rare and exotic plants, animals, and minerals are also sold here. This place caters only to the things that most people couldn't even have the luck to glimpse once in their lifetime.

The core district also acts as an administrative area of the city so it is well guarded.

A few families have a permanent claim in this district, which gives the youngsters who had recently awakened, a good head-start to begin their journey as an adventurer.

Though Jake's parents were A-Class adventurers, they didn't enter the core district or have any claim inside that district. They didn't think it was worth it, as every awakener would return to Tarro to advance as advancing in Yaros would be pretty useless as a high awakener.

They believed that the children should be shown the path of survival but not to be spoonfed. This would only hinder their growth.

Though Jake wanted to enter the core the core district, he understood his parent's thoughts.

The youngsters who come from families that spoon-feed them would have higher power levels but less combat experience which could lead to their premature deaths. Yes, there are many who benefited from this process but also many who lost their lives because of this path.

Once they reach a certain level quickly, they think that they are too strong and go out to hunt higher-level creatures.

Unlike low-level creatures, high-level creatures develop some intelligence. They reach such a level through constant combat and would have rich combat experience. These creatures would know our moves even before we make a move.

This caused the deaths of a lot of adventurers. Luckily, Yaros gives the awakeners of Tarro an almost immortal life.

They could learn what they did wrong and improve by the time they face such a creature again in the future.

If they didn't learn from their stupidity, and carry this disease with them to Tarro, then death is what awaits them for real.

These people have the best ways to level up as fast as they can but it is not a worry for Jake as he has his own cheats.

With the Blessings of Artemis, he could level up faster than those snorty idiots who think they are above all, with the resources provided by their family.

They are not wrong.

One may say what they would be without their family but they do have such a family to support them.

Luck is one of the most important factors that has a huge impact on one's survival in a world.

If one has a good amount of luck, they could find resources that could help them progress faster and become more powerful than others.

One should know that though the level is what is used to denote the power of a person, it is not the true indicator. There are many things that influence their true power.

There are skills, spells, combat experience, etc... that can redefine one's strength.

Level determines the attributes and energy stored by that said person. How they efficiently use said energy would determine the outcome of a combat. The more experience they gain, the more easier is for them to increase their efficiency.

A person with a huge number of spells and skills is not considered powerful if he can't use them properly.

Experience plays a huge role but one can't undermine spells and skills one possesses.

This is what Jake believed too. So instead of going out to hunt, he went to a training hall, to get used to his skills.

Even though he had trained before awakening, that was with his true body. This is different and the skills he got are very powerful. If he loses control, they could cause huge problems for him.

Control is required and so his new training began.
