Darcy was adamant that, once this was all sorted out – whatever THIS was, of course – a return to the little town was possible and while she hated herself for possibly lying to her daughter, the uptick in Bella’s attitude made it worthwhile.

Darcy had made so many mistakes in her life, so many bad calls and dreadful judgment decisions that confidence in her own decision-making ability was tragically low. Yet this, what she had focused on now, seemed to be the right thing – she was almost sure of it. Plus, it’s not like they had a lot of options.
