"Val? She is alright." Jel said, kicking the water lightly with his bare feet. "A good kid. Very … active and she shares the same desires as I do."
"And that is?"
"She is trying to find a way for both carnivores and herbivores to live in harmony. It is not perfect just yet but I am sure, in a couple more years, she will be able to make something that will work as a good enough meal for the carnivores."
"That is wonderful." Odette smiled, clapping her hands together, excitedly. "I am so glad I sent her with you, Jel. So, so, so glad."
"I am too," Jel said, pausing for a couple of seconds. "But."
"But?"
"Our daughter?" Jel asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman. "Honestly, I am really glad my mate is not here otherwise … the misunderstandings I am sure are to come up just from those words alone."
"Does your mate not listen to you or doubt you often?"
