Nina took a few deep breaths before opening her mouth.
"My lord," Nina began cautiously, her voice steady but laced with hidden urgency, "there is a treasure that could control someone's memories. It can alter them or... remind them of their past lives. That treasure... it's missing."
Her words pierced the air like a blade, forcing the nine-tailed fox to turn his dark, intense gaze on her.
Nina felt a shiver run down her spine, but she was also immensely relieved. Finally, she had his full attention. Finally, her lord was not touching that horrible-looking ribbon flickering in the air as if mocking her efforts.
The fox's eyes narrowed as the meaning of her words sank in. A treasure that could manipulate memories, especially in the hands of the wrong person...could be catastrophic.
More so in a world where his master's reincarnation was trying to finally live a peaceful life.
"Who took it?" he asked, his voice low.
