As I called the members of our club to begin training, I couldn't shake the feeling of unease that settled in the pit of my stomach. With practiced efficiency, I organized the room, setting up the equipment and dividing the members into pairs, as was our usual routine.
It was customary for pairs to engage in friendly sparring matches, allowing us to gauge the skill level of new recruits and assess the progress of our seasoned members. However, as luck would have it, everyone seemed to have found a partner except for Amelia.
I couldn't help but suppress a smirk as I observed her predicament from across the room. It seemed karma had a way of intervening, and for once, Amelia was left without a partner. But my amusement quickly turned to annoyance as she made her way over to me, a smug smile playing on her lips.
