Chapter 1: Clearly a Dream.

There's just no way. This is clearly just a dream.

He had to think rationally, though, it's not something he did often

He had been playing that stupid game so much he was even having dreams now? But of all the characters he could have been in a dream..a stupid side character really? He wasn't even playable!

What a suckass dream.

He groaned and stretched a bit once again, was he seriously sore? He deals with enough muscle pain in reality, now he has to deal with it when he's supposed to be peacefully dreaming? This really was the worst. Maybe this is actually a damn nightmare.

He stood up and looked around.

Well it was definitely the plaza you spawn into when you first enter the game. There was no doubt about that, but it looked 100x more detailed than what he saw on the screen, the imagination sure was powerful thing.

He took in the new scene for a long while before he caught a whiff of something sickeningly sweet. His head immediately whipped around in the direction it seemed to be coming from.

He stopped some drool from rolling down his chin as he caught sight of the cafe, the signs all had all sorts of fancy sounding treats and drinks.

He nearly jumped when his stomach rumbled and pulled him out of the trance he was in. "Food doesn't sound so bad right now.." he mumbled to himself as he walked up.

Before he knew it someone stopped him at the door, "Just what do you think you're trying to do waltzing into here?"

Rene lifted a brow, "I'm trying to get food obviously." What a ridiculous question, why else would it possibly go in there? "Oh yeah? You and what money?"

"Well of course–" He felt around in his pockets and..empty. They were totally empty aside from a nickel. Great, he forgot this useless bard was totally broke. He even asks the player to give him some money as a damn side quest. How could he have forgotten that? You don't even receive anything in return!

"That's what I thought, best be on your way now, little bard." Rene glared at the worker standing before him before turning away and walking back to the bench by the center fountain.

He plopped himself down with a frustrated sigh. So let's get a few things straight,

He had no money.

He had no instrument, even though he's a bard.

Considering he's sleeping here he must really not have a house.

This was going to totally suck.

Well, all hope was lost. He may as well try and find a way to wake up, it's his best bet—

He stopped mid thought as his eye caught and unattended lute. A nice looking one at that. It seemed someone had left it.

Well, they weren't using it, wouldn't they feel good knowing it was going to a good cause? He quickly bolted and grabbed it. It was like a guitar almost, it couldn't be that hard to get the hand of.

He tested the strings by strumming a few times. "Hah, how lucky."

He tried to think of a good song, as he thought he slipped off the hat he had on, setting it on the ground before the bench before hopping on top of it.

He strummed the cords harshly, and his mind blanked, and his soul soared. And the sound just flowed out..

Like a rushing river of song.
