Nicolaus had hoisted himself into the saddle. His legs settled comfortably against the sides of the horse, finding their position as he nestled snugly onto the horse's back.

Prepared to head back to the estate, he ensured a firm grip on the leather reins, getting them just right in his hands, preparing for that gentle nudge that would prompt the horse into motion.

But just as he was about to leave, someone had abruptly interrupted his plans.

Talon, appearing a bit breathless from his hurried run to catch up, finally managed to get the words out, "M, Marquess!" He paused briefly to catch his breath before continuing, "Could you, uh, spare a minute? I've got something important to say, my lord."

Nicolaus, already perched atop his horse, narrowly avoided setting off. He swiveled his attention towards Talon, waiting to hear what he wanted to say.
