Who He Was

Sleeping in the large penthouse by himself made Luca feel particularly empty inside. For one night he slept with someone in his arms and it was enough for him to long for that feeling again.

Luca wondered if Sophia would even like to stay in a place like that.

His room was expansive and an entire wall was covered in windows. The sheer grey curtains that covered it were opened by the click of a button and he walked forward as they tucked into the sides. 

As he looked at the cars far below, Luca wondered if he had ever been grateful for that view or if it even occurred to him to look at it before. Was this sort of life something he was accustomed to? 

It was no wonder that much of the penthouse seemed unused because each time he left a room, a maid was there to tidy things up. He lived with the impossible expectation that things must always be perfect.
