Kevin lay on the cold, rocky floor of the cave, his body exhausted, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. He had been lost in the memories of his past, the destruction of his world, and the friends he had lost.
But now with Jyahnar, bronya and elysia with him and the mission to bring everyone back , pulled him back to the present.
His eyes fluttered open, and he groaned softly as he pushed himself up from the ground.
The cave was dimly lit, with the only light coming from the faint glow of the energy that swirled around the walls.
Kevin could feel the intense energy in the air, but it was nothing compared to the storm raging within him. He took a deep breath, gathering his strength, and used his healing abilities and system assistant to mend his wounds.
Regeneration is ineffective because of Yin-yang energy rampaging inside him. The energy has disturb the whole harmony inside Kevin.
As the warmth of his healing magic spread through his body, he heard a voice—sharp, feminine, and laced with irritation.
**"Oh, so you stand. I thought you were a handicap,"** the voice said, echoing through the cave.
Kevin turned toward the source of the voice, his expression indifferent. **"I was just deep in thought,"** he replied, his tone flat as he finally decided to look at the girl—or rather, the creature—that had spoken to him.
What he saw took him by surprise. He was in a cave, but the being before him was far from what he had expected. A massive dragon, about 40 meters long, stood before him, its crimson red scales shimmering in the dim light. Its golden eyes gleamed with intelligence and curiosity, and Kevin couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sight.
**"Damn, it's a dragon,"** Kevin muttered to himself, his eyes widening slightly.
The dragon, however, was not amused. "Don't compare me with those lizards. I'm a True Dragon," she hissed, her voice filled with pride. The temperature in the cave suddenly spiked, the heat radiating from her body making the air shimmer.
Kevin raised an eyebrow at her reaction. "True Dragon? What's the difference between a dragon and a True Dragon?" he asked, genuinely curious. His question, however, seemed to catch the dragon off guard.
"You don't know about True Dragons?" the dragon asked, her voice filled with disbelief.
Kevin shook his head. "Nope. Never heard of them."
The dragon was left speechless by Kevin's admission. She couldn't believe that someone standing before her—someone who radiated such immense power—had no knowledge of the mightiest beings in existence. After a moment of silence, she decided to explain.
"True Dragons are the will of nature itself," the dragon began, her voice carrying a sense of grandeur as she explained. "We are born naturally, without the need for parents or progenitors. We are nature incarnate, the embodiment of its raw power."
Kevin listened intently, nodding along as she spoke.
The dragon continued, her pride evident in her tone. "Unlike common dragons, we are spiritual life forms, completely free from the constraints of a lifespan. We are eternal, unbound by the limitations of mortal existence."
When the dragon finished, Kevin clapped his hands, the sound echoing through the cave. "So, you're basically just a cluster of energy with a will," he said, a small smile and innocent expression on his face.
The dragon's majestic explanation was instantly deflated by Kevin's casual remark. She stared at him, her golden eyes narrowing in annoyance. "Watch it, mortal. You wouldn't want to make an enemy of a True Dragon," she warned, but Kevin was unfazed.
"Yeah, yeah, True Dragon, blah blah,"Kevin waved his hand dismissively. "But honestly, aren't you just a glorified heater with scales?"
The dragon's mouth fell open in shock, completely taken aback by Kevin's audacity. "A glorified heater?!" she echoed, her voice rising in indignation. "How dare you—".
But Kevin, feeling mentally drained, decided to come closer to her. He approached the dragon with little caution, his tired mind more focused on inspecting her scales than worrying about the danger she posed.
Kevin ran his hand over the dragon's crimson scales, marveling at their smooth, almost metallic texture. "These are pretty impressive," he remarked, more to himself than to the dragon.
"Don't touch me!" the dragon snapped, her voice sharp as she tried to swat him away with one of her massive arms.
But to her surprise, Kevin didn't budge. He barely reacted, in fact, and continued his inspection as if she hadn't even tried to move him.
The truth was, the dragon found herself somewhat intrigued by Kevin's presence. Despite her attempts to assert dominance, there was something about him that she couldn't help but like. Perhaps it was the fact that he wasn't terrified of her—something that was both refreshing and unsettling at the same time.
Kevin, however, was too mentally exhausted to care. The memories of his lost world weighed heavily on him for past week.
Without a second thought, he laid down beside the dragon, his body slumping against her massive form. He used one of her wings as a blanket, wrapping himself in the warmth of her scales.
The dragon froze, utterly speechless as Kevin made himself comfortable against her.
No one had ever dared to come so close to her, let alone use her as a makeshift bed. Her first instinct was to incinerate him with her fire breath, but something made her hesitate.
She looked down at Kevin's face, taking in his defenseless expression, the weariness etched into his features, and the strange beauty that seemed to radiate from him even in his current state.
"Excuse me? Did you just use me as your personal pillow?!" she hissed.
"Sure did," Kevin mumbled, already drifting off. "You're warm and surprisingly soft for a giant lizard."
The dragon sputtered, completely taken aback. "I— I am not a pillow! And I am most certainly not a lizard!"
But Kevin didn't hear her; he was already fast asleep.
All his action made the dragon even more speechless.
"Who the hell is this guy?!" she muttered to herself, staring down at the sleeping figure curled up against her side.
"Don't think I'm going to let you sleep forever. I've got plenty of ways to wake you up, and they're not all pleasant," she huffed, though she made no move to do so just yet.
The dragon decide to use her fire breath but seeing Kevin defenseless face and his beauty she decide that she should let him wake first before dealing with him.
She sighed, her annoyance slowly fading as she watched him sleep. "Fine, take your nap, but when you wake up, you're going to regret treating me like a bed. No one disrespects a True Dragon!"
And yet, despite her words, there was a softness in her gaze as she curled her massive body protectively around Kevin, ensuring that he stayed warm and safe while he rested.
