Chapter 18

I wake to the sound of birds chirping in the tree outside of the large window in the bedroom where we slept last night. I can still feel him behind me, his arm draped over me, but his slow soft breaths lead me to believe he is still asleep. I slowly edge towards the edge of the bed to pop to the loo for a wee. He stirs slightly but doesn't rouse. I look at his pale skin in the early sunlight and it is almost like he is glowing, his dark hair a total contrast.

I rush to the loo, and after peeing I quickly brush my teeth and straighten my hair. I walk back into the bedroom and slink back in next to him. I lightly brush his hair from his face noting how soft it is and roll it around in my fingers. I could wake up like this every morning for the rest of my life I think to myself and then immediately get a sinking feeling in my stomach. "He is only here for 2 months. This is not going to be forever Aimee. He will go home eventually" I tell myself. I can't believe that I have allowed myself to get so giddy. I'm not sure what I was expecting. The typical fairy story perhaps. Boy meets girl, falls in love, can't be without her, marries her, they have kids and live happily ever after? I'm not lucky enough for that. I have to make sure that i'm sensible and although I do have feelings for him, I have to be realistic and face the fact that it won't last forever.

My phone buzzes and I turn over to check the message, it's one sentence from my childish but funny best mate.

-Did you fuck?-

I laugh, and message back to her that no we didn't and we were wiped so we just slept. I tell her if that changes she will be the first to know. She quickly responds with a kiss. I know that she will leave me to it now and wait for me to keep her updated or ask for her if she is needed. She really is great. So supportive but not clingy. We are always there for each other but have time apart too. I'm sure that's the recipe for a great friendship.

It seems it is the day for friend check ins because Jimin's phone starts to ring, it's a face time request from someone. He stirs and picks the phone up answering automatically and holding it above his head. He reaches out with his other hand feeling for me still in a daze. I move closer to him but try to stay out of the frame until I know who it is. He puts his hand on my thigh.

"annyeonghaseyo Jimin" I hear said by multiple voices. "Jollineun?" shouts someone. I try and get a look at the screen and realise it's the other guys from the band. I check the time. It's 8:45am here meaning it's almost 5pm where they are in Seoul. In a sleepy, husky muted voice he tells them to speak English as he is not alone. I hear cheers and whistles from them obviously impressed with their friend. He quickly counters with something in Korean. I think he swears at them actually but can't be sure.

He pulls me closer so that i'm in the frame with him and introduces me to them. "Boys, this is Aimee, she is my tour guide and is keeping me safe from all the press". I can't help but feel a little wounded, I don't know what I was hoping for, obviously not this is Aimee my future wife or anything like that but perhaps a little more than just his tour guide.

They all wave and say hi to me and he asks them to introduce themselves. I vaguely know who they are from my google searching but they quickly do so in a well practiced manner, I am sure from all their interviews.

A very handsome guy with an American sounding accent says he is Namjoon, and Jimin tells me his stage name is RM. The cutest little face comes to the front of the camera and says he is Taehyung and again I get his stage name which is V then he blows a kiss at me. Next is Mr worldwide handsome Jin who waves but doesn't say much. I think he may be a little shy. Jungkook screams down the phone he misses him and winks at me whilst waving, and Jimin chuckles. The last 2 who are Yoongi and Hoseok known as Suga and J-Hope just wave and stay quiet.

I wave at them all and say it's nice to meet them and then tell Jimin I will let them talk and go an make some coffee. He nods and I shout bye. I hear "annyeong" in reply. I get up and go to the kitchen. They revert back to full Korean and I hear whoops and cheers and laughing. It really does seem like they have a beautiful relationship with each other, more like brothers rather than band mates.
