CHAPTER 4

"What a meeting?" He said with a sigh.

"Need coffee?" Cheng Xiao asked as soon as they were back at his office.

"Please!" He said while rubbing his temples. 

Cheng Xiao walked out and went to the pantry to make him coffee.

In the process of making the tea she heard her phone ring and she reached and saw that it was her mother's call.

"Mom!" She said and placed her phone by the ear and continued to make the coffee.

"Are you set for the blind date tomorrow?" She asked immediately.

"Yes, even though I had told you that I was busy you still went and arranged it anyway.

"Cheng Xiao you are 29 now and all my friends' children are married and have grandchildren now. Only me is left without the joy of holding my grandchild." Her mother said in sorrow.

"Mama please don't start now I have asked him to meet during my break." Cheng Xiao said while rolling her eyes it was a daily thing for her mother to call and complain about how others were becoming grandmothers while she is still waiting for her daughter to get even a boyfriend.

"Did you really speak to him?" She asked excitedly.

"Yes, and I assume that you would have known since you are the one that arranged it with his mother." Cheng Xiao replied while balancing the phone that was on her shoulders.

"And..."Her mother asked curiously.

"And nothing." Cheng xiao replied flatly.

"Mom, I have to go." Cheng Xiao and hanged the phone before her mother could say anything else.

Cheng Xiao walked to the CEO's office and placed the cup in front of him. He reached for the cup and took a sip, when she saw that she was no longer needed she turned and left the office.

Shen Mu was busy typing away when she received a call.

"Mu Mu!" She heard her father say. 

"Dad what's wrong?" She asked in a worried tone.

"Your mother had an accident." 

"WHAT!" She shouted and stood up from her chair.

"Dad I'm coming." She said and packed her bag.

On her way to the elevator, she called Cheng Xiao.

"Shen Mu!" 

"Xiao Xiao I have to go to the hospital to see my mother."

"Why what's wrong with your mother?" Cheng Xiao asked anxiously.

"She had an accident."

"WHAT! Where are you right now?"

"I'm at the elevator."

"Okay wait for me I am coming."

"Okay." Shen Mu replied.

"Cheng Xiao ran to the CEO's office.

"What's the matter?"

"Sir my Godmother was in an accident and I have to go to see how she is doing."

"GO!" He said and she thanked and closed the door.

Cheng Xiao picked up her things shoving them in her bag and ran to the elevator. The other colleagues watched her run in confusion first it was Shen Mu that was running down not too long ago, now it was Cheng Xiao that was running as well. The elevator reached the floor and Cheng Xiao ran and saw Shen Mu waiting for her and ran up to her.
