CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

A week later, the plane ride back was as exciting and as awful as the last but... Now that I think about it, it wasn’t so bad. With Jace’s hand firmly clasped with mine, he always made me feel that even though the plane shake and the ground swallowed us whole, everything will be alright.

Occasionally, I would hear an explosion far in the distance and the sound seemed to shake the plane for three painful seconds and at that time my hand would squeeze Jace’s tighter and I would hold it tighter than ever.

When we landed was when I realized the cause of my fear on the plane since usually I wasn’t that fidgety and anxious before— Something was different. Something felt off.

I didn’t know if it was just me or I was really seeing things, but something felt different. It felt like an itch I couldn’t scratch, hell I didn’t even know where it came from but it was there and it made me confused.
