Chapter 7

The whole Kingdom gathered to mourn their princess,but one thing that was shocking is that no witch attended the funeral.

Ramos had his confirmation,they where so guilty that they even missed the funeral.

Performing his sister's last rite was the hardest thing he had done in his life.

He watched them put an empty casket into the ground and sign his sister's fate.

Queen Padanaram knew why the Witches hadn't attended,it was as hard for them as it was for her.

For the Witches their kind made them family,and along with the other ladies that went missing that night the lost their next Queen.

Yes,she knew her daughter Leah was going to become the next Queen witch.

Padanaram knew her daughter was either going to get hurt or end up killing herself,the pressure and responsibilities increased the day she turned twenty one and the present Witch Queen visited the palace.

(FLASHBACK)

"Mum, you've gotta start letting me go outing with my friends" Leah says.

"You know your father isn't going to agree to that" Padanaram says.

"Everyone knows you're father's mouthpiece in this palace,if you give me permission then he won't disagree" Leah says with an eye roll.

"You know you have to cover up for your brother, he's got a meeting today with the cabinet members,and am sure you know he won't be attending so you'll have to seat for him" She says.

"Mum,am living the life of a prince and a princess, please give me a break at least" Leah whines.

"He's your brother,I expect you to be able to do anything for him"

"You should tell that to bro as well"

There's silence as a beautiful lady with fair skin appears.

As usual she's dressed in a long sky blue dress.

"Am so sorry to interrupt the mother-daughter talk" The lady says smiling lightly.

"Oh no Queen you aren't interrupting anything,you're always welcome you know" Padanaram says.

"Of course,Leah,how do you do?"

"Am okay your highness" Leah says laughing.

She sits down beside Padanaram.

"Funny right, you're a princess and the. you have to call me your highness" She smiles.

"Of course, please do remind me your name so it's not weird between us" Leah says.

"Shhh,how can you talk to her in that manner Le? where's your manners?"

"Let go Padanaram,she will be in my position too,she needs to address me as a equal"

"What do you mean by that?" Padanaram asks.

"I think you know what I mean" She says turning to Leah.

"My name is Diane"

"Diane the Witch Queen" Leah says smiling.

"I am here to deliver the message,I've finally seen in one of my visions that Leah here is my successor" Diane says.

"You can't be serious" Padanaram whispers getting up quickly making the chair screech.

"I am not a joker either" Diane says turning to leave.

"Why me?" Leah asks.

"Because our ancestors believe you are more than capable to rule the witches as you are a full blood and am certain they also have other reasons as well" Diane says finally disappearing.
