CHAPTER 69: WHAT BUSINESS
After Dan's "advice," Sky remained unresponsive.
Seeing his lack of reaction, Dan had to forcefully grab his arm and lead him away.
But just as he pulled him up, Sky felt a sharp pain in his left ankle.
Like a zombie, he deliberately ignored the dull pain and numbly stood up.
As soon as he took a step, his foot felt like it was on a razor's edge. His vision blurred and he fell to one side.
"Mr. Sky, be careful."
Dan acted quickly and held onto Sky's waist, helping him regain his balance.
Mr. Sky's body was so cold!
His hands touched his wet clothes, which were chilled by the champagne. He could feel Sky's body trembling weakly and frailly.
"Please walk slowly, I'll support you."
Dan felt sorry for him and supported him as they walked.
Sky nodded numbly without saying a word.
He bit his lip and leaned all his weight on Dan, taking one painful step after another, as if walking on a razor's edge, out of the banquet hall.
Dray watched the man, soft and delicate hands, leaning on his assistant as he left, his dark eyebrows furrowed and a thick, unyielding coldness in his eyes.
Bella was standing next to Dray, watching as Sky walked away. He frowned deeply, her face darkening with displeasure.
She should have been happy, but for some reason, she felt an inexplicable sense of unease.
"Dray, why are you only just arriving now? Is something wrong?" Madam Li Harper walked over at that moment.
"Thank goodness your grandfather wasn't feeling well and left earlier. Otherwise, if he had seen the scene just now, who knows what he would have said." Madam Li was most worried about the issue of the Li family's heir.
Although Dray's position within the Li family was now supreme, with almost the entire family under his control, as long as the old man hadn't formally handed over power, he could change his mind at any time.
Deay still had so many uncles and cousins to contend with, and he didn't want any unnecessary trouble.
"I was delayed for a few minutes on the way here. It's not a big deal." Dray's brow was still furrowed tightly, his expression cold and distant.
His dark and brooding gaze lingered in the direction Sky had just left.
"I'm sorry, Auntie. I didn't expect my cousin to be so rude. To come here and ask for money... it's all my fault for not being able to stop him."
Bella appeared at the right moment, and sky weakly took all the blame upon himself.
Madam Li patted her hand. "It's not your fault. You don't know there are such shameless people in the world."
"But Bella, don't blame your aunt for being nosy. It's better to cut off ties with such relatives early. Who knows what kind of diseases those men who do that kind of business outside might have. You come from a good family, but you must not be soft-hearted. Otherwise, if you get involved with him and get infected, you will be the one who suffers!"
Madam Li's words were as clear as day.
She almost said it out loud that she thought Sky was dirty and was afraid that Bella would get too close to him and get infected with some disease.
"That kind of business?"
At that moment, Dray suddenly spoke, glancing over at the two women beside him.
His cold gaze fell on them.
"You're talking about Sky... that man just now. What kind of business does he do?"
