CHAPTER 38:HOW COULD THIS BE

When Sky was respectfully sent back to his apartment by Dan, his mind was still in a daze.

He didn't hear a word of what Dray said to him before he left, except for the deep and scorching gaze and the warmth of his hand on his palm that seemed to burn him.

How could this be...

He buried herself in his pillow, feeling frustrated.

He had intended to confront him face to face, but ended up being played again.

Not only did he have no outlet for his anger and grief, but he also sent himself to him again for him to toy with.

Sky felt like he was useless.

He had never had a chance against Dray.

Just then, the maid Aunt Mary suddenly walked in without knocking.

"Young Master, do you still want these things? If not, I'll take them out and throw them away!" Aunt Mary asked, shaking two black plastic bags with disdain.

This Madam, who was forced upon Master Li by Old Master Xander, was really too cold.

When he was sent by Mr. Xia to clean Sky's room, she found these two shabby black plastic bags.

If it weren't for Mr. Xia's suggestion that they might be Master's things, she wouldn't have brought them up to ask.

She had no idea that the husband of a wealthy family would use plastic bags to carry things.

"No...the things in the bag are very important to me. Thank you, please give them to me, I need them!"

Sky saw two plastic bags and suddenly remembered that the ring, which cost his two hundred thousand dollars and was finally retrieved from Bella by him, was still in the bag.

Of course, he needed it!

Sky quickly took the plastic bags from Aunt Mary's hand.

Aunt Mary thought there must be something valuable in those two bags because of Sky's nervousness, so she deliberately waited to see.

However, when Sky emptied the bags, there were only some cheap daily necessities and clothes, and only a small iron box was carefully held by Sky.

Could there be something valuable in that box?

Aunt Mary suddenly felt regretful that she didn't secretly open the box and see what was inside. If there were any valuable goods, she might have been able to keep them for herself.

Just then, Sky opened the lid of the iron box.

A pile of broken ring fragments lay quietly in the small iron box.

"What... What's inside this box? It's all a mess!" Aunt Mary, who had been a maid in the Li family for many years, exclaimed. "Master, are these rings? They're all broken, how did you manage to keep them so well? These rings don't look valuable at all, and the diamonds on them are too small!"

Even as a maid, Aunt Mary knew that diamonds less than one carat were not worth much.

Moreover, Sky didn't even know if the diamonds in the box, which he had kept like treasures, were natural or artificial.

Sky pursed his lips and didn't answer Aunt Mary's words. He was too busy examining the remains of the ring in hid hand, trying to figure out how to repair it.

"Hmph, ignoring me..."

Seeing that Sky was ignoring her, Aunt Mary gave him a disdainful look and went downstairs, unhappy.

Eli wasn't home tonight; he had gone to the hospital to keep Old Master Xander company.

Aunt Mary took the opportunity to sneak out and play cards with her friends.

Soon, it was dark outside.

Sky looked at the ring on the table that he couldn't seem to fix and sighed.

The tools at home were not enough. It seemed that he would have to take the ring to the workshop and figure out how to repair it another day.

At that moment, his stomach made a rumbling sound.

"Gulu..."

Sky couldn't help but rub his stomach.

He had fasted in the morning for his physical examination.

Later, he went to Dray's place and was persuaded by him again. After returning home, he was busy repairing the ring and had forgotten to eat until now.

Sky could only put away the ring, endure his hunger and fatigue, and go downstairs.

The maid, Aunt Mary, was not at home, but Sky didn't think much of it.

He opened the fridge and saw it was filled with fresh ingredients, so he decided to cook dinner himself.

Not knowing that Eli wouldn't be coming back tonight, Sky made a few extra dishes.

He planned to invite Mr. Xia to have dinner together when he returned.

It was 7:30 in the evening.

When Dray pushed open the apartment door, a delicious food aroma hit him. 

His eyebrows furrowed slightly at the rich and unappetizing smell of food, which rarely stirred his appetite.
