Getting back to the packhouse with Nigel, Bella, Ella and the rest of the mountain pack, Duncan and the elders welcomed us. Duncan helped the members settle down, while I returned to my room. After putting some things in place, I went to my office to get some documents.

I kept thinking about Olive. She had refused to follow us to the fire pack and would not let anyone stay with her at the mountain pack. All effort to make her change her mind proved abortive. She said she needed to put things in place in her pack. She wanted to keep her pack territory safe. She said she could not leave the packhouse in isolation. And we shouldn't visit her except she tells us to.

Ella tried to pursue her into coming with us or maybe she should visit for a while but she wouldn't budge. She wouldn't let any of us visit too. She asked us not to come. She said we will be a distraction to her. I knew she was trying to make use to leave and I became bothered about her hurting herself or doing something stupid. I feared she might want to take revenge alone.

I wanted to go see her but I knew that was a bad idea. She will be so angry with me and might yell at me. Every day, I kept getting worried about her. When it was time for her parents to be laid to rest, we visited the mountain pack again. The look on her eyes showed she was stressed out and needed help but she was good at hiding how she feels.

She tried to avoid us as much as she can. When I tried to make her talk, Nigel stopped me. He said she needed space and I should give it to her. He said if I do care about her, I should let her come around herself.

Rumors circulated about the attack of the mountain pack all around the pack. And my pack members were afraid they might be the next target. They had thought their alpha was too gentle and though Duncan can help, they couldn't help but be sacred. They must have heard the rumor of Salvador being behind the attack on the mountain. Everyone feared Salvador. Even those from bigger packs. That must have stirred up the fear.

With the fear shown by the fire pack members, the mountain pack members couldn't help but shiver too. They began to seek the presence of Olive. They also wanted to know who her mate is and to know how strong he is.

Hearing how the mountain pack members want to know who Olive's mate was and the fear lingering among my pack members, I decided to let them know I am the ruthless alpha. At first, I wondered if it was a good idea. I knew telling it out to them will put my pack members at risk. But knowing that the mountain pack needed an alpha that is powerful and coming to them as Nolan won't help, I made up my mind to stop away from my true self.

I left my room and went to Nigel's room to tell him what I planned to do and ask if that was a good idea. When I got there, I met Bella. "Hi" Bella whispered and stood up to leave.

I sighed and sat down. Bella has been avoiding me since Olive left. This had been the first time she had talked to me after she told me I had turned her enemy. She left and Nigel sat down beside me. "You want to talk?" He asked dropping his phone on the table.

I sighed. "I am thinking of letting everyone know I am the ruthless alpha"

He batted his lashes. "You want to do what?"

"I will like to come out plain"

"Don't you have a reason for hiding it in the first place?"

I nodded. "Yes. But you know I can't keep hiding for a long time"

He shrugged. "You should tell Bella and Ella first. Let's see what their response will be"

I stood. "Sure"

When I called Bella and Ella to Nigel's room to tell them who I was. They were surprised and could not hide their surprise. Ella was scared to death and I couldn't stop myself from laughing. Bella did not say a word. She only stared at me and then looked away. "Can we leave now?" Bella suddenly said and stood up

I stared at Nigel and he nodded. "You don't have to leave, Bell. Nolan is already leaving"

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah. I was about leaving"

I turned to leave. "I will talk to her. I promise" Nigel whispered. I left the room and returned to mine. After waiting for some hours, I heard a knock on my door and I stood up to open it. Bella, Ella, and Nigel walked in. Ella seems calm, cause she was smiling. She must have overcome her fears. Bella smiled too. "I forgive you," she said when she sat down

I batted my lashes in surprise. "Y-you forgive me?" I asked.

She nodded. "I do. Not because of you though. But because of Olive, Ella and Nigel"

I smiled. "T-that's good news. Do you forgive me too, Ella?"

She nodded. "I do. But I still can't believe you're the ruthless alpha"

I chuckled. "I look too gentle to be one right?"

She nodded. "I never knew Olive's found out about it. That must have been her reason for leaving"

"I hope you will bring Olive back here," Bella said.

"I can't promise to bring her back but I can assure you I will help her get the revenge she desires"

Nigel patted my shoulder. "I trust you"

"So you want to announce yourself as the ruthless alpha?" Bella asked

I nodded. "I think it's necessary"

Ella sighed. "We told Olive to accept you as her mate but she send us away instead"

I shrugged. "She can't forgive me easily. But I won't reject her as my mate. I won't accept her either. I just want to keep the mind of the people at rest until we can find Salvador"

"Do you think Olive will accept you when you say it in public?"

"She might not accept me as her mate but I am sure she will accept the ruthless alpha"

Ella chuckled. "Can I see you wear your mask?"

I rolled my eyes. "Ain't you suppose to be with your mother?"

She pouted. "Please. I'm sure Bella wants to see it too"

"Can't you wait until I show it out to everyone?"

"No. I don't want to be so surprised as the rest when you show them" Bella answered

I sighed. "Follow me. I have a mask in my room"

Ella jumped up happily. "Yeah!!!"

I smiled. I had thought things will be awkward between us if they found out about it. I thought they would run away from me but instead, they were happy and willing to see me in my mask. Nigel seems happy too. "But you have to tell my dad and the elders too," Nigel said after Ella left to attend to her mother.

I furrowed my brows. "Don't you think that's a bad idea?. You can explain to them instead"

He chuckled. "We are in this together," he said dragging me.

"I don't want to go" I whined

"I ain't hearing that," he said dragging me out of the room.

While I was speaking with the pack members, I noticed Olive was in the crowd. I had summoned both my pack members and the mountain pack members. I wanted to announce Olive as my mate and seeing her here made it easier. Staring straight into her eyes, I said, "I Nolan Chapman has agreed to accept being the ruthless alpha as my true self and is willing to accept Olivia, of the mountain pack as my true and only mate,". She looked so surprised. "Do you accept me as your mate, Olivia?" I asked and she stared danger at me. Everyone stared at her and I wondered if she was going to reject me again. Though I wasn't expecting her to accept me, I hoped she will play along just to put the mind of her pack members at rest.

She folded her arms, staring straight into my eyes. I stared at her too, not taking my gaze for a while. After some minutes of silence, she finally spoke up. "I accept you. I will be your luna" she said. Her words were short and simple and I couldn't tell if it was said with sarcasm or she meant what she said.

I stared at Ella and Bella and they looked as surprised as I was. "Maybe I should say it this way" Olive whispered. "I Olive of the mountain pack take you Nolan of the fire pack as your mate. I will be your luna and fight alongside you, to bring peace to both packs and avenge the death of all those we have lost"

I sighed. My instinct was right. She accepted to be my luna so she could take revenge. I knew she wouldn't have accepted to be my luna if she had no plan. From what she said, I could tell she accepted me so that her pack members' will be at rest and they will find peace staying here while she sought revenge. She must have accepted me now that I have come out as the ruthless alpha. I shrugged. Irrespective of what her reasons are, all I know is that she's my luna.
