"But how did this come to be?" I frowned, "I don't understand."

"Benedito has been through a lot of trauma in his life. That as a young child he had to form these walls around his emotional growth, because for him growing up in such a world and having emotions would get you killed. Therefore when it came to personal attachments he is still far behind compared to his peers," she explained. 

I looked at Benedito who was avoiding my gaze every chance he got. "So then how do I for example tell him about the things that have upset me throughout our relationship that I found ridiculous without triggering a tantrum?"

"Let's say in this past two weeks tell me the types of emotions you've felt and what thoughts went along with them?"

"Um well," I ran my fingers on my chin, "At first I was really happy because of my birthday party and the fact I was alive. I had my insecurities of course."

"And what were those insecurities?"
