Lexie stood by the door, watching with impatience as Zheme stepped inside with multiple bags in hand. "What took you so long?"
Zheme shrugged, closing the door behind him. "Shopping for food is not easy Lexie, especially if you're a man."
"It is easy, all you had to do was pick up a couple of groceries, you wanna know what I did while you were gone?"
"What?" Zheme inquired.
"I had to wait for you, right here at the door."
"Did you stand here all this time Lexie?"
Lexie nodded and at that, Zheme's eyes narrowed pointedly. "How many times must I tell you not to do that? I've been gone for about thirty minutes Lexie, couldn't you just wait in the living room while sitting on the couch or something?"
Lexie shook her head, arms folded across her chests. "No!"
"And why the bloody hell not?!"
Lexie didn't respond, instead her arms circled herself as she took a step back.
Zheme sighed at that for he knew what would come next, her vulnerability, that's what.
