His A-list Star: A glamorous comeback

Excerpt~~ "Do you know how long— I have wanted to do this?" When he spoke up, his voice was husky, a mixture of desire and sincerity. Matching with the look in his eyes. Sending this strong vibration across her body. "From the very time I saw you, walking down that aisle, dressed to kill. And all I could picture at that moment was how to get my hands on you." A smile lit up her face as her heart made a joyful leap at his words. She felt that fluttering sensation in the pit of her stomach. Hot blood ran down her spine, as she lifted a hand to stroke his cheek to be certain he was real and not some hologram before leaning forward to trail a simple and soft kiss on his hard- chiseled chin. This is where she wanted to be, in his arms. Safe and secured. "Now that I think about it, I caught you staring at me that I almost lost a foot—- you literally were drooling on me." He laughed. His laughter was so rich, it sent her heart racing again. Out of the ladies I have acted alongside with, I have to admit— I'm not saying this to make you feel elated or to sound cheesy but it was what I felt at that moment. I felt that connection I had never felt before in all the female actors I have acted with. Truth be told, you are the best……" Synopsis~~ Jane Anderson was a rising star who was making waves with her acting talent, but at some point had to give up some big roles because of her boyfriend and it had always been her dream to act alongside a top actor, Toro Wilson. TAKE OFF YOUR MASK.

"Don't you dare lay your hand on me!"

A startled glint flickered in his eyes, wearing a puzzled look on his face as she snatched her hand from him. Most importantly, Toro didn't know when he acted on impulse and grabbed her hand, when she freed her hand from his, he was somehow elated she did that in a quick unless his demons were bound to show. But then he had questions in him as to why she'd do that. Was she upset he didn't show up like they agreed? That was the reason he was here and what's up with the glare?

Toro watched the way her face twitched into a frown, and her eyes showed she was boiling inwardly. What did he do to get such a cold, stern and mean look from her?

"I came like you told me… where's my sweatshirt?" He shifted his gaze down to her hands but caught no glimpse of any shirt.

"Did you deliberately approach me? Were you being all nice to me a deliberate act?" She finally spoke up. Her brows were furrowed and her nose was flared, her voice was laced with anger.

Toro was puzzled and confused at her query. What was she talking about? What was he deliberate with? He watched the accused glint that flickered in her eyes. If eyes could kill, he'd be dead by her intense gaze.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't dare act again," she let out snort under her breath. "You aren't here for your sweatshirt, are you? God!...." She whirled away from him, running a hand across her wavy hair. Her light chocolate olive skin had a golden touch as it glowed under the restaurant's lights. 'Jane, you are so stupid, you are so stupid!'

She whimpered under her breath, grabbing a handful of her hair tightly. 'You are such a fool,' she went on to curse under her breath. Toro was impelled to grab her hand again but refrained, instead, he walked over to her. Barricaded her path and arched a brow, questioning.

"What's up with you?" The question flew out of his mouth out of their own accord.

"What's up with me?" She let out a low chuckle, glaring at him. "You," she directed a finger at him.

"You!....the fact you had the temerity to show up before me baffles me. You still showed your face after all you have done?"

For a second, Toro had a notion, Jane was talking through her. He didn't believe in reincarnation or ghosts but with the way she was retaining a hostile glare across her face and her words rose a little bit fear in him; what if all his doubts were true but he saw her die that night, her blood stained his hands. At those thoughts and the trepidation rising on his sleeve, his demons were slowly to take over him but at the same time, he wouldn't want to break down in front of her. He could feel his breath and heart picking race and his body quivered a little.

He clutched his hands to his sides, suppressing his demons. Bearing the same name or surname didn't mean they are same person, it's just a coincidence that they both shared the same name. But for Toro, this was his first time experiencing that and for some weird reason or maybe because he wanted to believe it, he thought she did had a little resemblance to his Jane. He immediately shut his eyes briefly when an image of her bloody body flashed across his eyes.

He killed her, he was responsible for her death.

"Were you so low on cash, you would do anything for money? How much had she given you to fake this, all this ..." She gestured to his face and clothing.

She? Who is she? What is she talking about?

"I have no clue what you are talking about. What's up with this whole drama? What are you yapping about?" He forced the words out, taming and truimphing over his demons as he loosened his hands and body.

"You have no clue what I'm saying?" She let out a small laugh and nibbled on her lower lip. "What was I expecting? Of course, you will deny it, you'll act all surprised and act like I have gone crazy but let me sound this as a note of warning, I'm not just any actress you can toy with."

"Seeing me in my worst times and state and using it against me and to earn money….." She continued to blabb, getting him all confused. Frankly speaking, what was she going on about? Instead of handing him his sweatshirt, she was busy accusing him again like she did last time.

"Is it a habit of yours to accuse someone?" He asked.

"Accuse?" She let out a surprised laugh. "You think I'm accusing you right now….. you two think I'm accusing you when I got you red-handed and why did you leave the moment you saw me. The moment our gaze met, you suddenly hurried on your heels, why? Because I had come to know about your little secret and schemes?"

"You must think of me as a gullible actress and don't dare to feign innocence because you'd be upsetting me the more," she raised a finger, warning him when Toro parted his lips to ursher out another word. "I was right all along, I knew my instincts never failed me. You deliberately bumped into me that night."

"And I thought our encounters were all coincidence, I was a fool for not knowing it was all staged by you and her from the beginning. To play me for a fool and upload manipulated and untrue stories about me. How did I end up unclad in that bar's room? How were you there when I visited my mom's grave? Why did I run into you in that mall? Why did you show up in that bar again and sat right next to me?"

"Why! Why! Why!" She yelled her lungs out. Breathing a little rapidly. "Coincidence? I think not...it was all staged, all staged by you and her."

She accused.

"Ever since I bumped into you, nothing has been working right for me anymore. My personal and acting lives are going down to crumbs. I got into a heated fight with my boyfriend because of you," she accused and pointed at him. "I was striped of my role in a movie because of you."

"Unsurprising, you never take off your mask because you go about seeking a celebrity's life to wreck and what did you say to me...the last time? I should take responsibility? Taking responsibility for exposing you in front of those people..."

"Ok, that's enough!" Toro raised a hand, shutting her up. "Like I said, I have no idea what you are talking about. Don't go accusing people without having solid evidence to back up your claims. And you got the wrong person, someone dressing up like me doesn't mean I'm him."

"I'm simply here to take my cloth, I have no time for all this ruckus and drama. I have better things to do with my time than stand here and watch you accuse me every single time we meet."

She kept mute for a brief moment and stared at him, the intense look she threw his way a while ago had softened and when he thought she wouldn't spew out another accusation, her next word stunned him.

"Take off your mask and pull down your hood….only then will I believe you are not him," she prompted. "But then, I have never seen your face so how would I know you are telling the truth?

He pulled a brow up as silence fell between them. Throwing her a surprised and inquisitive look.

"I'm waiting," she folded her arms against her chest and urged him to reveal his identity. Toro stood still, battling within him if it was the right thing to do or not. He never like showing his face in public which was the main reason he goes out almost covered up. He loved to take strolls down the roads and streets. Viewing the world from his own perspective but not with his face all open.

Being a top actor had limited his outdoor activities, he wouldn't go out without being surrounded by people. Bringing home some trophies from various countries he starred in their movies had made him the number one actor everyone wanted to mingle with and he wasn't in the mood to entertain fans running up to him requesting for selfies and autographs.

Her eyes urged him, compelling him to take off his nose mask. He couldn't do it without being swooned around by either her or any other persin but to clear the accusation and allegations, he ought to do so.

"Take off your mask," she urged again.

Forced and compelled. He brought his hand to his face, taking a slow breath. He reached out to take off his nose mask...
