2) Me but not me?

Alright, so the plan was to upload this chapter during Valentine's but got sidetracked and started watching Blue Lock.

Anyways, here's this week's BS of a chapter:

Word Count: 1887

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Inside the bedroom of an old, run-down orphanage, a young boy can be seen sitting up, pondering something.

The young boy looked to be four years old. Having black hair that grew to reach his nose. Along with it, the young boy had piercing hazel eyes that created more difficulty than he deserved.

The young boy, visibly shaking, held himself thinking of the vivid dream he had just woken up from.

'Why didn't they shoot the other guy!? I didn't even do anything wrong. I just moved to not get stabbed.' The young boy grumbled before getting hit with a headache.

The boy fell back down on the bed while holding onto his head. 'No, that wasn't me that got shot... I've never once left home, but why do I remember the feeling of being shot and sta-' The boy thought before the headache increased its intensity.

"Agh!" The boy grunted. Tightening the hold on his head, more of his(?) memories started to flow in. Different scenes started to play inside the boy's mind. After watching those scenes for who knows how long, the boy started to drift off to sleep, and those scenes begin to be more vivid.

___

Inside the dream(?) world, the boy looked around. Looking around, the boy noticed that he was standing in a well-made house that look familiar. The boy, feeling the sense of familiarity, widens his eyes in shock, wondering why. 'Why? Why does it feel like I've been here before? I've never once left the village.'

After a few minutes, the scene changes. Seeing the change around him, the boy began to panic ever so slightly. A couple of seconds later, the scene started to stabilize, causing the boy to calm down. Gaining his calm, he looked around once again. He noticed that he was still in the same room, but with slight differences. The few differences between this one to the last were the feeling the room gave and the person sitting on the couch.

The room still gave a sense of familiarity, but now it gave off another feeling, a sense of coldness. It wasn't as if the room itself was cold, it was more akin to not feeling the warmth of another human. Taking in the feeling, the boy looked at the other one, the one that the dream created.

From a glance, the dream boy seemed to be around ten years old. Similarly to the boy himself, the dream boy had fairly long black hair. The dream boy was sitting on the couch, staring off into the t.v. Walking closer to him, the boy started to feel a sense of familiarity with him. Unlike the first time, the boy knew the feeling well, the feeling of loneliness.

Before getting out of his surprise, the scene started to change again. Instead of being inside the house, the location changed to a large white room. The white room had no windows and no doors, showing no way in or out. The room had a two-person couch with a large flat screen mounted onto the wall ahead of the couch. In between the two, there was a small coffee table with the t.v. remote and what looked to be a warm cup of coffee.

Seeing that there was nothing else to do but sit down, the boy enjoyed the cup of coffee. Sitting down, cup in hand, the t.v. turned on, showing a variety of different scenes or videos. While watching those videos, the boy realized one thing. They all led to one conclusion, the person in each video always ended up in unfortunate situations.

Mind you, it wasn't any of the lucky pervert situations. It was more along the lines of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. The severity of each one was different, ranging from his shoelaces loosening, making him tie them again to being shoved right into a very dangerous situation, hoping for help or an opportunity to escape.

Now, watching what seemed to be a few years worth of those videos, the t.v. changed to the last final video. How did the boy know it was the last video? Well, for one, it wasn't comfortable to keep watching the world beat on someone, so he would've ignored the rest. Now, for the second, and the real reason, the final video was something he had just recently seen, vividly in fact.

It was the dream? The video? The memory... he has seen before? 'Could it have been a dream? No, it couldn't. I can still remember every detail during it. It can't be though, the man there was older than me, there's no way-'

"C'mon kid, take a deep breath and relax." Said a mysterious young man, patting the boy on his shoulder.

The young boy stopped his thoughts and look at the young man. Staring at each other, the boy took his advice and took a couple of deep breaths, calming himself.

"Alright, that's good. Are you feeling better now?" Asked the young man.

"Uh, yeah, thank you. Uhh, who are you, sir?" Hesitantly asked the boy.

Chuckling lightly, the young man said, "C'mon relax a little. It's not like I'm here to hurt you. Well, to answer your question, you can say I'm the person you're watching through this dream world."

"Huh!?" The young boy couldn't help but widen his eyes in shock. 'Wait, why can I watch his memories? Why, no, how is he here?'

Seeing that the young boy had stopped talking after his revelation, the young man spoke up again. "Alright kid-"

"Cian."

"Hm?"

"My name isn't kid, it's Cian, Cian Osborn. Saying kid makes it harder for people to remember me..."

Hearing that, the young man widened his eyes in surprise, then let out a sympathetic smile, for he too knew how that felt, being forgotten, left out, and left alone.

"Alright then. Cian, I don't much about how I got here, but I'll try to answer any questions you got."

Hearing the young man say his name, Cian smiled. "Why are you here and how are you here?"

Giving a small troubled smile, the young man answered, "Well, for why I'm here... is well, I don't really know. As for how I'm here, you've already seen that. I got killed thanks to my bad luck. Now, coming here to be a part of you, that I don't know."

Hearing the answer, if you can call it that, Cian grumbled a bit, disappointed that that didn't really answer his question.

"Okay, okay, don't look at me like that. Just give me a few seconds to see if I can feel something, though I'm not sure how I'm supposed to do that." The young man hurriedly said, only muttering the last part to himself.

Seeing the young man close his eyes, Cian did the same, hoping to feel something. After a few seconds of concentrating, they both simultaneously open their eyes with a hint of a purple glow before fading again.

Looking into each other's eyes, the young man asks, "You felt it too yeah, our souls somehow being connected and fusing with each other?"

Cian just nods, entering a brief moment of silence.

Breaking that silence, the young man says, "Seeing the situation, we can assume a couple of possible answers."

Cian nods again, gesturing him to continue.

"One, with our souls connected, I would say it's safe to assume that we would be forever stuck together or we would have to fight over control over the body. Though, if that ladder was the case, I wouldn't really bother with it, I should've died anyway.

Two, seeing how cliche this situation is, I would say I was sent here to mentor you or something, though I kinda doubt that. The only thing that comes to mind when teaching is how to get accustomed to the misfortune bad luck can give, and we both know how bad my luck is." Answered the young man while presenting a wry smile.

Finished talking, they both went silent. Cian, because he was still thinking about why their connected and the young man was because he was thinking about what world they were in.

Breaking the silence once again, the young man says, "Well, since we aren't getting anywhere with thinking, let's just move on."

Getting out of his thoughts, Cian looks over, tilting his head as if asking, "What do you mean?"

"Since we aren't getting answers sitting around, let's just move on and think about what to do in the future, we'll get probably get our answer anyways."

"Okay, but what am I supposed to do? I'm still too young to do anything."

"Simple, we can just try to make something that you find fun into something you'll do in the future. Like, let's say if you like reading, you can be a librarian. If you like playing around or being physical, then you can be a PE teacher or something. If you like looking at different places, then you can a photographer. Anyways, you get my point, yeah?"

"I see, but I don't really have anything I like or don't like..."

"Hm... Then we'll do the same as our soul connection problem."

Upon hearing that, Cian couldn't help but have a look of confusion. "Huh?"

"Basically, we'll just continue on with life until something piques your interest, but you won't be being nothing. I'll help you an all-rounder, that way anything you find in the future would be easier for you."

"All-rounder? Like learning everything?"

"Not exactly everything, just a little more than the basics. Since I don't really have any "wisdom" to pass down, I can teach you how to read, use math, and try not to limit yourself to being only school smart. While I help you with that, you'll also need to do some physical exercise. I wasn't too big with exercise, but I do know what they are and what muscle they help."

"Uhhh..." Cian paused and looked at the young man, lost on what he was talking about.

"My bad, too much." The young man chuckled, "I'll just help you with the basics then we can take it from there. Good enough?"

"Uh-huh." Cian nods.

"Alright, since we got that sorted out, let's wai-"

"Wait! I haven't told me your name yet!" Cian interrupted.

'True huh? Well, since I already died, let's not use my old name. Plus, this is a good time to name myself Merlin or something.' The young man thought to himself, letting a small chuckle thinking the last part.

"Well, you can call me -"

A/N: Alright, finished another chapter!!! Anyways, I wrote this chapter to show that the two souls, Cian, and the young man, weren't fused right off the bat. I went with this because I wanted the young man to be something like an older brother of sorts for Cian, since well he doesn't have anyone else to rely on.

Am I able to make that idea successful? I don't know, but we'll find out-

NEXT TIME ON DRAGON BALL Z

Anyways, I'm out.
