“He’s right, you know,” Morgan said.
“About me teaching you?” James asked, shaking his head. “No way!”
“About us not having our priorities straight,” Morgan said.
James sighed.
Morgan went on, “We really do want to do what’s right for the clan, but if we’re honest about it, I think we have to admit, it’s really more about us. We’re rushing this decision before we’re ready just so we can make love the way we want to—freely, no restrictions.”
They turned and began to walk away from Great Eagle’s lodge. They could hear the old shaman chanting as they did.
“You’re right, damn it,” James agreed. But why did the Wolf Spirit have to make waiting to screw the man you love part of the plan? Why couldn’t it have been walking on hot coals or fucking a bear or something? Anything would have been easier than this.”
