Chapter 61
Fate is cunning, it was something they couldn’t run away from, no matter how hard they try and when it strikes. It’s disastrous.
The seer.
“We’re under attack! Alpha, they’re here!”
“What!” Sean yelled from the courtroom, the door flung open and he came in, running to meet Sean and his brother.
“The pack! Is under attack. Zyair is here!”
He jerked up from the chair he sat on.
“How?” If that was what he should’ve asked but it was what came out of his lips.
“Zyair is here?”
“Most of the warriors on the northern borders are down and the walls had been broken. They’ve broken into the north of the pack Alpha!” He cried.
Sean’s lips quavers, he didn’t know what to do, he’d expected the attack to be so sudden.
“I told you about this Sean,” Jason said.
“Gather the warriors NOW! We’re stronger than them. GET THEM NOW!”
“Yes, Alpha.”
“I’ll kill Cartel! I’ll kill him.” He swore.
“Don’t say that.”
“I’m not just saying Jason, I’ll do it. How dare the imbecile. He’s part of this and he would pay for betraying me. I’ll make him pay. The motherfucker!”
He groaned.
“Calm down!”
“Calm down, don’t you fucking tell me to calm down, we’re at war don’t you get it? Zyair is here to get at us! And you’re telling me to calm down. How do you expect me to do that?”
He paced in front of him with Jason not saying anything anymore. His lips were completely shut, he didn’t know what to say.
They hadn’t expected it, they thought they were the one having the upper hand not this they were facing.
He ran out of the courtroom and Jason follows. He couldn’t wait anymore, the tension was killing him, and he had to prepare the wolves. If it was just the north they still had time to prepare.
“Alpha!” He came running to him again. Falling on his knees this time around.
“We’re surrounded! They’re everywhere, once the walls fall, it’s over for us!”
“It’s over for you stupid, not me!” He yelled in his face.
“Even if we’re surrounded we would fight.”
“Most of our warriors are dead, so are sick and some are close to death.”
“Bring them all. We’re all fighting and dying together. Go now, Idiot!”
“Yes, Alpha!”
He ran out again.
“Get prepared Jason, I’ll do the same.”
Jason nodded and walked away leaving him alone in the hallway. He would fight, even if they were surrounded. Zyair won’t get him.
They were stronger so they had a chance of challenging them. They would challenge them if they had to. And that was it. He wasn’t giving up on the crown. Never!
“Attack!”
Wolves against wolves as the walls fell, and those salmon wolves that were already in a fight with the moonlight pack. The fight was fierce, blood was slashed, and wolves fell from each side of the fight.
Among the bodies of wolves were the wolf-less Luna who fought alongside the Alpha. Killing the wolves that came her way in a bit of a flash. As she fought, shielding the alpha from all hurt and the wolves coming at him.
But there was one wolf he would fight, and that was his brother Sean.
When he sighted him he pulled back from her shield. This was his fight, no matter how weak he was, even if he ends up dying. He would make sure Sean pays for his sins. Death was too good for him.
His steps were slow, his eyes were spinning. He had to be careful so he doesn’t end up falling before he started fighting. Sean saw him and he was getting at him.
Amaia saw him leave her sight and jogged to meet him but give her a sign not to come close to him. He had to do this, Sean was his to deal with.
She stopped and let him do what he wanted but she would fight close to him.
The fight between the wolves was hard and bloody. It was certainly the moonlight pack was strong because of how they were defeating the salmon pack. They saw them, salmon wolves falling in their hundreds.
The strength of the moonlight pack shouldn’t be underestimated.
In the midst of it all, she stood, watching the wolves fight. The only wolves she could see were Franco, Creamy, and Zyair. The others were down.
She’d killed most of them, moonlight wolves and salmon wolves unknowingly. Since they were in the pack, which had the curse on it. Her powers submerge. She felt it, the curse activated at that point. The boundaries Zyair had given her, which was his strength weakened. Her speeds increase and as if it was just her that was fighting the moonlight wolves, she was ready to kill them all.
“We’re not gonna lose this battle..” those were Sean's words to Zyair when they met. But weren’t there to exchange words and the only thing he had to ask was why.
The question he had no answers to.
“You should know you’re fighting with an Alpha now, not the mere Zyair I was then.”
Sean glared hard and he didn’t wait for the next word before he jumped on him. And they fought, Sean knew he had no chance with Zyair because he was having the upper hand even when he noticed the weak sign he gave, he thought he would be able to win against him but now he wasn’t sure anymore.
His fears for Zyair had been what dropped him to his knees and had Zyair have his claws into his skin.
Both of them fell.
Though he wasn’t hurt by Sean he was weak. And had sustained the fight for a long.
“Kill me..” He groaned.
“That was the plan but I don’t think I’ve got the strength for that.” He exhaled. He’d shifted back to his human form and just lay here.
“...what? Are you dying?”
“Faster than you think.”
He breathed out.
The seer watched from the stand he was. It was almost a full moon now, and he knew what would happen next. And it was already happening.
Sean did the unthinkable, raising the red flag and all the moonlight pack surrendered and fell to their knees.
His knees too were on the ground in front of Zyair.
“The true alpha of the moonlight pack, my youngest brother. Zyair Wren. I’m sorry.” He bowed. When he laid Zyair slowly raised.
“I did wrong..” he confessed.
“And I don’t deserve to live, I killed my father. Our alpha. Wren. and framed Zyair for it and tried to kill him. I’m sorry once more.”
He won’t live to see the shame, he killed him right there in front of everyone. He would end it with his own hands.
The full moon.
Everything that involves around him happens on a full moon. He stared at the moon. This was part of his fate too?
