Chapter 60

“It’s beautiful tonight...”

The night was dark and the stars were up, sparkling as they showed. We were seated underneath the tree, the tree I had told him about my secrets. There were a lot of memories under the tree. which was the alpha. I was in his arms. With those hands wrapped around my shoulders. His head down my neck, I could feel his breathing on my neck. And the soft kiss he placed on them.

“Perfect time to make a wish.”

I nudge him a little with my elbow to get his attention. His jaw rested on my shoulders as he watched the sky with me. We had the duvet over our bodies since the night was a bit chilly.

“You wanna make a wish?”

“I do.”

“Those that even work.”

I eyed him. That was enough to quell him and he obediently stare at the sky with me.

“Make a wish,” I tell him. I placed my hands together. Reminiscing the memories I had with my father on nights like this. When I was very much of a kid.

We sit just outside the cave with a fire in front of us, father telling stories after we wished on the stars. And then sleeps with my head on his thighs.

My wish then had always been one time.

I wanted a handsome mate.

I did get the mate I wanted.

I laughed out at my silly wish. Zyair wondered what made me laugh like that. The silly guy had not a clue but joined me in laughing.

Stupid...

“You’re truly gonna wish on that.”

“I believe what’s troubling me will melt away like snow if I wish on the stars.”

“They don’t have the powers to grant wishes.”

“Has anyone told you how cruel you’re? Ruined moods and argh! Irritating at times. What’s so hard to believe as everyone does.”

“I’m not everyone. I’m the Alpha.”

I rolled my eyes at him. Annoying jerk.

“I’m realistic.”

“Mr. realistic go away! You’ll have fun cuddling yourself.” I tried to stand up but his hands were on my waist and had me pinned to his side.

“You think I’m gonna let you leave? Too bad, you’re stuck with me.”

I chuckled.

“Let’s make a wish then.”

“I thought you weren’t interested in it?”

“It ain’t bad trying it.”

“Crazy...”

Why say all that when he was gonna accept to do it anyway? If only I could exchange him for some meats.

“What did you wish for?” I asked. He’d been so focused on it, and there must’ve been something he had wished for.

“Isn’t that supposed to be a secret?”

“There shouldn’t be any secrets between us.”

“You wanna know what I wish for?”

“I’m waiting to hear it.”

“A kiss from you.”

I pushed him back a bit with my hands on his shoulders. That was what he had to wish for.

I pushed my face closer to his. With a smirk.

Making his wish come true. If that was truly what he wished for.

I embraced my wet lips on him in a slow passionate kiss. My body itches for his touch, I ran my hands over his body as I continued kissing him. His hand went up into the short red nightie gown I wore as I came prepared for it, I had no panties on. My legs were wrapped around his torso. He grabbed my butt and I squirm in his body as our kiss got hot and rough. His hand went up and down my body. Until the dress was off me and I was bare.

I wanted him, and I could feel it too, he was hungry for me just as much as I was. I was worried that he would push me away this time but he didn’t.

And this night, he was all mine.

“We would attack tonight, we’ll go with what the Alpha says..”

“But Luna?” Franco called. I turned my gaze at him. We were having a meeting with Zyair in it. He’d been sleeping for a long and there was no need to have him disturbed because of it. I’d everything under control. Creamy was here though he had been grumpy and won’t talk to me. Franco and Cartel are all good.

I didn’t have to say anything to him now until we were done with the meeting. A lot has happened in just two days now. We were planning our attack sooner than we’d thought.

Zyair didn’t tell me why the change of plans but we were to follow his orders and that was what we’d been working upon.

“...this part. And the Novak. Our men are all there. And if we were gonna fight tonight we would be short of men.”

“Moonlight pack warriors are strong, despite the disaster in the pack. They don’t let it get to them when it comes to defending our borders.” That was Cartel talking.

I knew they were strong but we still ain’t gonna let them win. Even if we were short-numbered.

“We would go with the plan.”

“It’s like suicidal. Pushing our warriors to die.” He was trying not to raise his voice on me. I stare at his face and he held my gaze.

“I’ll fight, we’ll are fighting with the Alpha, I wasn’t the one who made this pledge. They did. They said it, they were ready to fight with their Alpha. They didn’t complain about it. You and I know, they’re ready for whatever is gonna happen.” I said as carefully and strained as I can.

Franco pushed himself back from me and bowed.

“We’ll cover this part too. Take refuge at the sona cave. We’re fighting for the alpha who was wronged and everyone that had been wronged..”

For Louis too. It wasn’t Zyair’s fault he had to raise the sword against his family. If only he had given him a chance to explain maybe this won’t have happened. It was all his father’s. He should’ve known, the moonlight pack was after power and strength. To strengthen the borders. They did a lot of chaos. He’d shamelessly exploited the powers of his young clueless son.

“What happened after? He would become the Alpha of the moonlight pack, what about us?” He asked again.

I’d thought about it, won’t lie about that, and I still didn’t know. He could merge the two packs if he wants to or let them have another ruler but who? There had not been any Alpha except Zyair. And there must be a reason why the moon goddess made him the alpha here.

I shrugged a reply to Franco, but that wasn’t for me to answer.

“We’ll make our attack immediately. We’ll get them confused if we attack each of the terminals. Since I know how it had been. Kinda an advantage.”

We nodded because we agreed with him on that, he knew the pack. That was his home, though it was the same for us all. But we’d all left.

I found out too, that I was the reason the pack was suffering and their Alpha was on my tail. And tonight we were gonna face them and the probability of meeting my parents.

“..how is the Alpha?”

I lift my eyes and found their eyes on me, all of them, even Creamy that hadn’t said a word to me since. Was he curious too?

“He’s coming with us isn’t he?”

I nodded, I couldn’t say how he was but he would come with us. There was nothing I could say about his health which I knew was deteriorating every minute.

I didn’t mate with him last night, even when I wanted to, the possibility of him slumping while on it got in my way. And I had to pull away this time without him stopping me.

“He’s resting, he’ll join us soon enough.” It didn’t seem like they believe what I said. Without them saying anything. I saw the doubt in their eyes.

“I’m here.

Let’s get started.”

That was all it takes to clear the doubts. What were they expecting to hear, that something had happened to him or what?

I smiled when he came in and stood beside me. And pulled me into his arms.
