Chapter 46

The moonlight pack was in chaos, wolves were dying every day. Their death remains a mystery, how did they die? No one knew, but they knew it was the curse but what could they do to stop the curse. Nothing, there was nothing for now but to watch them die.

That had made them scared because it could be any of the next.

The borders weren’t protected, everyone had gone into their house and shut their doors.

Waiting for their death.

“We can’t keep leaving like this..” The cartel said worriedly, they were in a meeting. Sean was pacing up and down the room, he couldn’t sit, and his head was burning. Since he began the Alpha, he had been tortured by the curse. He watched his pack members die and he couldn’t do anything.

“Are you sure, it isn’t your fault?”

“What do you mean?” He thundered, he won’t let him off if he says nonsense, he would forget he was his brother and deal with him. There was a lot on his head right now this wasn’t how he planned to rule.

“You killed father, it had probably added to what’s killing us. Don’t you think?”

He pulled Cartel up from the chair, lift him off his feet, and punched him. And punched him again.

“Stop brothers! This isn’t the time for this.”

“If punching me would make him come to his senses! This is your fault, everything happening is because of you, you ain’t the Alpha.”

“Enough Cartel! What good would it bring, we should face the circumstances, we’re already in!”

He came in between them.

“I’ll have you locked up.”

“Sean!”

“He keeps doing this. I wouldn’t take this from him again. Anyone out there!”

He walked to the door and opened it. Searching for any guard outside. He found one leaning by the other side.

“Take him out, lock him up in the dungeon. No food, no water. I don’t care if he dies.”

“Sean this isn’t right, he’s our brother.”

“Brother, this nuisance, he’s a rebel and I’ll deal with rebellion wolf.”

“Because I keep saying the truth. Even if the curse is alive, what makes you think you could hurt her.”

“What do you know?”

He charged at him again. But Jason pulled him back.

“You know Zyair won’t sit and do nothing, since none of us is the true Alpha, that means it’s Zyair. You think he won’t do anything about it.”

“So?”

“You know what would happen.”

“Take him away, and lock him up.”

“Sean!”

Cartel was lead away from the room. He didn’t allow them to drag him but walked on out on his own. He was already tired of the damn brothers he had.

“Good riddance. If you think of doing anything stupid as well Jason you should as well join him.”

H sat down and clasped his hands over his head.

“I’m on your side. I won’t want Zyair sitting on that throne either.”

He sat down beside him.

“When would they be back?”

“They should be here.”

“We’ll get to know what to do when they come.”

“Have you thought of looking for Zyair?”

“I’ve got a plan, let them come first. We’ll prepare for war.”

“War?”

“Yes.”

The door opened and about two rough-looking wolves came into the room and bowed to the alpha. Sean and Jason stood up from the chair they sat on.

They were here.

“We bring you news alpha?”

“Tell me everything you found out. Where are the others?”

“They didn’t make it. Zyair. I mean Alpha Zyair got them. And killed them in front of us.”

“Alpha Zyair?”

“He’s the Alpha of Salmon pack. And has a strong army of wolves.”

Sean tightens his fist. He was having the feeling, that he knew something was happening.

“And he let you both go?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

He knew the answer but wanted them to reply to him.

“He sent us a message to you.”

“What message?”

“That he hadn’t forgotten what happened.”

Sean walked to the vase and hurled it across the wall. The base broke. He took the other one and throw them at the wolf standing by the right. He hits him on the head. But he remain rooted to the ground and didn’t show any sign of being hurt.

“..did you find her too?”

“She’s with him.”

“Did you see her?”

“He told us to tell you that.”

“Argh!”

He yelled.

“Calm down Sean.”

“Calm down,” He turned to his brother.

“How should I do that, tell me!” He screamed.

“We’re Sorry. Alpha.” They fell to their knee.

And brought their head down.

“Get all the warriors. Get them ready! We’ll attack them. This fight. We had to win, we didn’t kill him the other time he wouldn’t pass us this time. The girl, we would kill her too and end this. Tell every male wolf in the pack go get prepared for WAR!”

Creamy pov

“..prepared for WAR!”

I moved back from the door. I had heard enough. I had come into moonlight pack as a spy. It was true those wolves that came were killed by Zyair, and I had followed them here secretly. And he had told them Amaia was with us too. The curse they were looking for. I never expected the moonlight pack to be like this. This was how home and it was dying and I can’t let it die. Neither would Zyair allow it. I was surprised to find it that way. The curse of the red moon was affecting them more because it was her birth land. Because this land was cursed too.

“So where are we going?” Cartel asked me.

“You’ll know after you take me to the seer. There’s something important I need to find out. And you should at least thank me for helping you just now. You would have been in the dungeon. Were you that desperate to die?”

“I don’t see why I’m alive. I can’t do anything. Let’s go, I’ll take you to him. I wonder when he would die?”

“He’s not a wolf, he’s not human.”

“Are you saying, he’s a deity?”

“Maybe. The one sent to save us.”

Cartel nodded. He could be right, the seer had been of help.

“I wonder how Zyair would look like being the alpha, he was that unserious kid ever since. Flirting around with nothing except his strength.”

“You would be surprised. You didn’t even know it was me, did you?”

“Right.”

I smirked and walked ahead of him and he had to keep up with me.

“It’s that way.”

“..I know you were coming.” The seer was sitting by the tree, the tree that was his home. His white gown and beard gave him a unique look. His aura was calm and special.

They stare at him with their eyes up.

“If he wants to save her, the strength he had, he would lose them. And probably die because, without the strength, Zyair is nothing. I’m sure you know of his unique strength.”

“Yes. But is there a way?”

“There’s a way to save her. Lives would be lost because of it. And it’s not guaranteed it would cure the curse.”

“Would she be a hybrid without the curse?”

“Yes. She would be the greatest of all times that’s if she survived without the curse.”

“And if she doesn’t?”

“Doom.”

“What are the chances of saving her?”

“The sacrifice lamp, the sacrifice of love. And death. The sacrifice lamp is the hardest. Wolves can’t touch them and if someone had to touch them the person must love her with everything, only that would take the lamp off the cave it is. But afterward, the lamp would draw life out of the person who had taken the lamp off.”

“Lamp of sacrifice?”

I whispered to myself, it was the hardest if the wolf won’t be able to pull it out of the cave. If it... I sighed because someone came to mind. The one who loved her so much. Her father wasn’t a wolf.

“Are you ready to go that way or you would let him kill her and end it. It’s only Zyair that can kill her. Isn’t that the easiest way?”

“But she’s his mate.” I countered.

“Would he let her live then and let her kill everyone? That choice he had to make.”

“But why did you let her live?” I questioned. He told him, his mate was dead but yet he saved her because he knew she was alive and didn’t say anything.

The seer stare at me and smiled. His smiles gave me shivers.

“Because I wanted to give them a chance. Give love a chance.”
