Ryuu was running across yet another ocean. If he kept this up, he will have toured most of the world in no time. Not that the Atlantic Ocean looked the slightest bit different than the Pacific Ocean. It was all just water to him. Water that he was getting tired of sprinting over.
So beautiful, Emma's voice sang in his mind.
Ryuu looked around as he ran. Clear, cloudless skies sat upon a vast expanse of water, no land in sight. The setting sun's rays reflected off the water in a dizzying cascade of light. Ryuu didn't normally pay attention to such things. He used to be like an indoor cat. Now that he was free to stretch his legs, maybe it was time to enjoy the world a little more?
Emma's aesthetic sense was much more refined than Ryuu's. She would be able to appreciate a beautiful view untainted by anything man-made. Usually, you could only see something like this from an airplane or a cruise ship, but even that wasn't quite the same.
However, Ryuu was still slightly bothered by her presence. The weight of her awareness was as comforting as it was disconcerting. Surprisingly, Ryuu didn't dislike the thought of having constant companionship in his head. He had been rather lonely. It's not like he wanted to seduce women solely for sex and power.
Everything was just moving a little fast, which was ironic given what he was. He knew Emma's fear of the larger universe would keep her in line. They trusted each other, to an extent. They were both very goal-oriented people. Funnily enough, as two of the people who lived on the Earth, they both had a vested interest in keeping it safe from total destruction. So long as their paths aligned, they could place their faith in one another.
Thankfully, the connection went both ways. Where Emma had all of his so-called metaknowledge, Ryuu learned nearly all there was to know about Earth's seedy underbelly. A lifetime of working in the shadows and dealing with unsavory characters had given Emma an network of contacts and information that was nearly unrivaled. With the Hellfire Club and Frost Enterprises at her back, she was a genuine powerhouse in the political and financial sectors.
All of that knowledge was now Ryuu's as well. Emma didn't mind this, just as Ryuu didn't particularly care that she knew his secrets. It would be difficult for them to betray each other, given that they could sense each other's emotions and thoughts. For the time being, they were stuck together.
After another hour of non-stop running, Ryuu found himself in London. He stopped on the beach and threw himself down upon the sand, exhausted. Ryuu had great stamina, but running across two oceans with only a small break for some draining sex had pushed him to his limits. It appeared he would need to train his body if he wanted to be able to run laps around the planet.
After a quick snack and a drink to recharge, Ryuu was on his way, blurring through the streets of London. He didn't know where he was going initially, but Emma had been there before, allowing Ryuu to pluck the information from her head. Not that she had much of a choice.
Seconds later, Ryuu knocked on the door to 221B Baker Street. Without any delay, the door was opened by a perfect Benedict Cumberbatch impersonator, dressed in an impeccable suit. He was standing there like he'd been waiting for him.
"Hello," Cumberbatch drawled, "I'd say it's nice to meet you, but I don't like lying. Come in, I don't have all day." He ushered Ryuu into his flat and led him to a sitting area with a small couch and two leather recliners.
The Sherlock lookalike sat himself in one of the recliners and gestured towards the couch, "Take a seat. I don't usually take random clients these days, but you don't look like someone who takes 'no' for an answer."
Ryuu's eyes narrowed suspiciously, but he sat down without complaint. He was sure that somebody was messing with him. Unless this was an alternate universe way out of left field, Sherlock Holmes, in his current form, shouldn't actually exist.
He reached out past his mental wall and made contact with Sherlock's mind. What he heard confirmed his suspicions and one of his theories at the same time.
He is kinda hot, if a little young, thought Sherlock in a distinctly feminine voice. A very sexy voice. Ryuu knew he hadn't been wrong. It turned out that Mystique still thought in her own voice. Was it possible to train oneself to think in a different voice? If it was, Mystique certainly didn't know how.
To think, this kid is my only hope for a happy ending. Ridiculous, she thought, a little annoyed. When Irene came to me with a vision about a changed future I wasn't expecting this...
"Fucking precogs," both of them said simultaneously, a third voice added in by a woman who strolled in from the kitchen. Ryuu jumped in surprise. His hosts both cracked a smile and chuckled.
"Sorry about that," Mystique, otherwise known by her birth name, Raven, said, "Irene said this was the only time we'd be able to play with you with our own foreknowledge." Her body and clothing slowly shifted from her Sherlock cosplay until she looked like a young blonde woman in jeans and a blouse, almost identical to Jennifer Lawrence.
Damn, Ryuu thought, She's totally my type. 1
Emma rolled her eyes back in her office as she watched her man ogle another woman an ocean away. The horny teen was way too easy.
Irene Adler, code-named Destiny, was an older woman, but her age didn't detract from her beauty. She looked to be in her late forties, early fifties, and didn't have a hint of fat or wrinkles on her body. Her black hair was greying slightly and her eyes were covered with a black blindfold. She was wearing a formal black dress with long gloves.
Ryuu had thought he would be dealing with an ancient woman, barely clinging to life, but this worked out more in his favour. The seer had aged gracefully, and he couldn't help but fantasize about what was under her dress.
"Aren't you glad I'm a woman?" Raven laughed, "You should've seen your face. You looked like you'd seen a ghost." Taking on the form of Sherlock Holmes, an identity that she'd created in the late 19th century, was a fun hobby of hers. She missed the days when she and Irene ran around solving cases as the Consulting Detectives.
"How much do you know about me?" Ryuu asked cautiously. Honestly, these psychic women were going to be the death of him. They obviously knew why he was there. He supposed he was going to have to get used to it if he wanted to seduce the super-powered heroines of this world. Even Shea of all people was a seer.
"Hoh, not much, don't worry your pretty little head," Irene chuckled, "I haven't seen everything that you've done or might do, but I do believe I have an understanding of who you are."
Ryuu looked at her deeply, trying to decide if her knowing him was good or bad.
"Fortunately for you, the only other beings who could save me at this point are those I would rather not get into bed with, pardon the phrase," Irene smiled mirthlessly.
"Raven has walked this Earth for a century and half. I, myself, am over a hundred years old," Irene stated. "I may look like I'm in perfect physical condition, but I assure you, I only have a few years left at most. I've seen it, unfortunately."
Irene stared at Raven with a pained look, "Raven doesn't age. So long as she isn't killed, she'll live forever. I've seen this as well. I refuse to die and leave her behind, alone. For the past hundred years, it's been her and I against the world."
She looked back at Ryuu, milky eyes glowing slightly through her blindfold, and conveyed her will, "That won't be changing any time soon. I'll put it in terms you can understand. This is my most desperate hour. Help me, Ryuu Mochizuki. You're my only hope."
Delightfully sinful fantasies of the gorgeous MILF in a Princess Leia costume drove him to complete distraction. He would do anything to make that a reality. By the way Irene smirked, she knew it, too. The temptress probably knew all of his kinks from watching his future. Fuck. Didn't intentionally seeking the future damage her body? She wasted her powers on that?
You lucky dog, Emma said in Ryuu's mind as she put the pieces together. They're being so straightforward. These two are going to give you exactly what you want without a fight... unbelievable.
I don't know where you're coming from, Ryuu thought, All I had to do was dangle some vibranium in front of you and your panties dropped faster than an apology video given by a married celebrity couple after supporting a convicted rapist.
Fine, Emma huffed, Be that way. You have fun with the grandmas, and I'll focus on my work.
"Maybe precogs aren't that bad," Ryuu amended with a smile. "You want to make a deal?" he asked. Your opponents knowing your every move beforehand was a detriment, but not if they agreed with you.
"You can call it that, if you want," Irene agreed. "You'll be a seer like me soon enough, so don't hate too much. Also, don't think you will be able to get rid of us that easily after we've done the deed. You won't be able to deliver on your end of the deal for at least a year and we'll be needing some insurance for our investment."
Ryuu nodded in agreement, "Of course. What did you have in mind?"
Irene stated her terms clearly, "Raven will accompany you as a companion and guard. She's not too pleased about it, but she already has a Japanese identity and I've seen that you'll win her over very quickly. She won't leave your side until you return to me with mastery of regeneration magic and restore my youth."
Oh, how wonderful for you, Emma snarked, A shapeshifting slut that can become whatever you want will be following you around for the next year.
I thought you weren't going to give me any more attention? Ryuu coughed.
I'm not! I'm just commenting on your bullshit luck! Emma's mental presence faded, though Ryuu knew that she could shift her awareness back in an instant and he wouldn't even realize it. She was considerably more skilled with their shared powers.
Ryuu focused back on the seer and the shapeshifter. It was difficult holding two conversations at once! Thankfully, telepathy worked at the speed of thought and took considerably less real time than a physical conversation.
"Works for me," Ryuu said as he met Raven's intense gaze. She was staring at him like she wanted to kill him or screw his brains out. She was a bit turned on because it had been a while since she'd been with a man, but she didn't like being put in this position.
She and Irene were currently in a committed phase of their relationship. They'd been together, on and off, for almost one hundred years. They'd taken other partners over that time, but they always loved each other unconditionally.
With Irene's death close, the two spent all of their time together. That was why they were living at their old property, where they'd first met and started their detective agency, together.
Ryuu was keen to get started, but a stern look from the blind seer stopped him in his tracks.
"Not tonight," she said with finality, "You're exhausted and I can see that you wouldn't put up your best showing. Stay here for tonight. You're not needed anywhere and have nothing better to do." she said knowingly.
Ryuu pouted but conceded she had a point. He wanted to enjoy his time with the two centenarians and didn't want them to have any regrets. Apparently, Raven, like Emma, would be accompanying him for the foreseeable future. It wouldn't do to get off to a bad start and "Hey, nice to meet you! Let's fuck!" was pretty much what he was working with right now. Thanks to their desperation, that was all it took, but it wasn't ideal.
Before he could say another word, Irene grabbed him by the hands and dragged him to a bedroom. "Sleep, you horny brat," she commanded.
"You're still new to your powers and you ran two-thirds of the way around the world today. You can take us both at the same time when you have your energy back. If we're going to do this then we'll be doing it properly. If you don't satisfy us..." she trailed off with a stern tone.
Damn. She really did act her age. It was like he was being scolded by a grandmother... He didn't have that kind of kink!
"Yeah, yeah," he sighed, sinking into the bed. She did have a point. He could already feel his eyelids drooping. He had hoped that having a well of speed force energy with him would grant him endless stamina, but alas, such was not the case. He would have to train up his endurance. Well, there was always tomorrow.
