(6 months earlier).
A car pulled up on the Kim driveway, playing loud music. Kim Mi-Young stepped out the car full of smiles and laughing non-stop at her friend's stupid jokes.
"Do you think your brother will give you grief for ditching your bodyguard," Esme asked her.
"Maybe, but it's nothing new. He will lecture me on the importance of being safe from our enemies and blah blah blah..." Mi-Young said sarcastically.
"Lol, let me know if you need me to come save you," Esme said laughing.
"Thanks for the offer but Joonie is like a putty in my hands," she responded with a laugh.
She said her goodbyes and made her way towards the house. She noticed that there was a familiar car in the driveway.
"Great, dad is here as well. This should be fun," she said to herself.
Mi-Young let herself in quietly, hoping to make it upstairs without being noticed.
"There's my little princess," a man said behind her.
Mi-Young froze before turning around to face her dad. Her dad was as strict as they come and she hoped she didn't smell like alcohol and smoke.
"Hi, Daddy," she said making her way towards him.
She gave him a tight hug as it had been a while since she saw her dad.
"Come and have a drink with me," he said hugging her back.
"You mean you will have a drink while I have fruit juice," she said sarcastically.
"Yes, my daughter doesn't drink and shouldn't start now either."
"Dad, I'm 21, when will you realise I'm not your little girl anymore?"
"Never, just like you will always be my little sister," Nam-joon said giving her kiss on the cheek.
Kim Nam-joon, Mi-Young's older brother by 5 minutes and her dad's heir to the company. He was truly annoying and forever in her business. He never let her out of his sight unless there was a bodyguard with her.
"By the way, what's this I hear about you ditching Vinny at varsity," Joonie asked sternly.
"I don't need him to follow me around and I needed some privacy of my own," she told her brother.
"Lil sis, it's for your protection. Why can't you just follow the rules for once?" he questioned.
"Enough both of you. We have more serious matters to discuss," Mr. Kim said.
"And that's my cue to leave," Mi-Young said.
"Mimmi, this includes you as well," her dad said.
That was odd; her dad never discussed anything about the family business with her. She was always asked to leave the room but not today.
"Your brother and I have been talking and we both agree it's time for you to get married," her dad said sternly.
"Married!!" she said in shock.
Oh hell no!!
