No one dares to bully his wife

After the two were done eating, they washed the dishes together before heading upstairs together.

"Ninth uncle, do you not have any important work? You have been with me for almost the entire time", said Qin Mei in the elevator.

"Nothing is much more important than you. You go wash up and sleep, it's late. I'll be in the study in case you need me", Huo Xinhan showed her where the study was and promised to show her around the entire villa the next day.

After washing up, Qin Mei picked a cute and new pink pyjamas from the wardrobe before climbing onto the huge king sized bed.

Sitting on the bed, she recollected everything that had happened since yesterday and wondered if everything happening was really real.

The man she had loved for almost ten years suddenly abandoned her and claimed he liked her older sister instead. Then suddenly out of the blue in the midst of her sorrow, Huo Xinhan showed up like a knight in shining armor. He was so affectionate and caring towards her that she found it hard to believe.

How could someone as noble and powerful as him care for a nobody like her? Apart from her stunning face, she had nothing else!

Her career was a mess and she could barely fend for herself but this man told her that nothing was more important than her.

When she heard those words, her heart had raced like never before!

Qin Mei tossed and turned around in the bed countless times but she could not bring herself to fall asleep.

Huo Xinhan stood on the balcony of his study and made a phone call.

"Han Ying, pick out the best lawyer in our team. I want to get those shares back for my wife, no one will dare to bully her anymore!", Huo Xinhan's clenched his fists and his voice was frighteningly cold.

Qin Mei stood outside the study, about to knock when she heard those words and her heart missed a beat.

At this moment, all the doubt in her heart about Huo Xinhan almost immediately disappeared. She was now certain that this man sincerely had feelings for her even though she did not know the reason behind it.

*Knock...knock*

Huo Xinhan heard the soft knocking right after he hung up the call. The coldness around him immediately disappeared as if it never existed.

"Come in...", He glanced at the door and spoke out, his enchanting voice filling the entire study.

Qin Mei pushed open the heavy metal door and entered the study. She scanned the area before her eyes finally landed on him.

"Is everything okay? Do you need something?", Huo Xinhan approached her, his voice softer and his eyes gentle.

Qin Mei lowered her head, even she did not understand why she was here. She did not understand why she came to find him.

"I...I could not sleep so I decided to find you. Are you busy?", Qin Mei replied, her face a bit red.

Huo Xinhan was truly stunned by her unexpected words and he wondered if he had heard her right.

"No, I'm done. I only had a few stuffs to deal with and I'm done. Let's go back", Huo Xinhan placed his phone in his pocket and took her hand to lead her out.

"That's not what I meant...", Qin Mei blushed once more.

"Then what did you mean? Why did you come to find me?", Huo Xinhan leaned closer to her, his voice filled with a hint of teasing.

Before Qin Mei could answer or react, she felt her body lifted into the air and falling into a warm and comfortable embrace.

She took in the faint fragrance of sandalwood and tobacco emanating from his body.

"What... what are you doing?", Qin Mei unconsciously wrapped her hand around his neck as her whole body trembled.

She was not ready, she was not yet ready for this!

Huo Xinhan kicked open the bedroom door and strode in without panting or looking tired. The whole room was filled with darkness and he did not turn on the lights.

He gently placed her on the bed and joined her on the bed before pulling her into his embrace.

"Sleep", his hot breath sprayed over her sending a tingling sensation to her body.

Qin Mei was nervous and could feel her heart racing crazily and did not know how or when she fell asleep.

Upon realizing the faint sound of breathing beside him, Huo Xinhan quietly got off the bed and quickly took a shower before joining her again in bed.

In the Qin mansion...

Hong Xu pulled Qin Mingmei into a corner where she was sure no one could hear them.

"Mom, it's so late! What's the matter?", Qin Mingmei muttered in an annoyed voice.

"Listen, I think that wench must have really gotten married. She was seen at the marriage service bureau with a young man", Hong Xu told her daughter.

"What? That's impossible!", Qin Mingmei almost exclaimed, forgetting about her annoyance and her eyes filled with disbelief.

Qin Mei had liked Huo Zilan so much! There was no way she would suddenly get married right?

"I find it hard to believe but I think that's the truth. Currently we don't know about the identity of the man but if she's really married then she might really come for the shares", Hong Xu said, her eyes filled with anger.

"No way! Mom you have to stop her, those shares are mine! Mine! I'll never give them to her!", Qin Mingmei grabbed her mother's sleeves nervously with a pleading voice.

"Don't panic, so far as I'm alive she will never get her hands on those shares! I'll go to the main company with your father today, if she really dares to show up then I'll teach her a lesson she will never forget!", Hong Xu smiled, her eyes filled with pure wickedness.

"Mom, how did you know that sister was at the marriage service bureau with a young man? You were with dad the whole day!", Qin Mingmei asked, her eyes filled with suspiciousness.

"Have you forgotten who your mom is? I have my men keeping an eye on her every move, she can never escape from us. I had even staged an accident to keep her in the hospital for a few months so she would not disturb your wedding but unfortunately that man saved her!", Hong Xu replied truthfully, she had nothing to hide from her precious daughter.

After chatting for a while more, the two returned to their perspective rooms.

"Where were you?", Qin Fanze pulled his wife into his arms.

"I was with MingMing, giving her an advice for tomorrow's dinner", Hong Xu smiled sweetly at her husband and hooked her slender arms around his neck.

That night, everyone slept in peace not knowing what the next day held for them.
