Bond

Mila fell asleep on the ride back home.

"Seems she finally relaxed," said Sam.

"Mmm," Ian muttered.

Ian had decided to drive them back. He gazed at the two in the back and smiled.

Mila was leaning on Damien's shoulder asleep. And he was not moving in order not to wake her.

A smile on his lips as his eyes met her sleeping face.

"It's been a while since I saw your hair loose, you look more feminine than her " commented Ian.

"Mmm, I wanted to say it but I..." Sam fell silent noticing Damien's cold stare at them both.

"Focus on driving Ian," he said.

Ian chuckled.

They dropped off Sam and then headed back to Damien's place.

After he put Mila to bed he returned downstairs.

"Mila seems depressed," he said.

"I know that's why I took her out with her friend," said Damien.

"Will she be able to go to work tomorrow?"

"If she can't then we will stay home "

Ian smiled, " Your spoiling her"

"Who else will..am her mate and there is no one willing to do it apart from me " he said.

"I agree but you're forgetting something," he said.

"What?"

"Your bond with her isn't stable yet," he said.

Damien sighed, " How is that important?"

Ian looked back at him, "With an unstable bond you will keep shifting without control and that is very dangerous for an Alpha like you "

Damien frowned.

"Mila just started using her power as my mate let her be for now. She will finally learn how to control it " he said.

"It's not about control Damein but that warm special bond you both share. If she can't stabilize it then it will bring more harm to you than her. You're here protector now so make sure your feelings and hers are on the same page " he said.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean Mila might not have the same feelings you have for her as you think " he said.

Damien blinked.

Ian smirked getting up.

"Think about it, maybe the reason her powers woke up was because you were in danger and she was worried about you and why your shifting is out of control is because she hasn't yet formed the right bond with you ".

Ian tapped his shoulders and left.

"You look much better today," said Sam.

Mila smiled, "Mmm thank you for coming to cheer me up "

"Always best friend".

She had returned to work after her leg recovered.

Damien was in his office gazing at them happily welcoming her back. She would limp sometimes but only if she stood up too much.

He sighed took his phone and called Ian.

"What should I do to make our bond better " he asked.

Ian chuckled, "You finally came around "

"Just tell me," he said.

"Simple, make her fall in love with you," he said.

"Huh?".

"Yes.. as long as she loves you as much as you love her then your bond will be unbreakable and stronger" he explained.

"But..but how do I do that?" he asked.

Ian smiled.

"Come on Damien use your charm...you used to make them fall for you with every turn you took back in school. Even now you still do "

"But Mila isn't like any of them..she's different," he said.

"Yes I know, she's different and your mate now. But it's your fault for jumping all the steps and making her your mate before you knew her feelings for you " he said.

Damien sighed.

"Do you think she likes me?"

"Ahhh...you don't even know if she does....well let's see, she smiles when you are around, agreed to stay with you and even lets you kiss her " Ian breathed "You fool isn't that enough to show you how much she likes you "

Damien found himself smiling but then Ian added.

"But it's not enough like to turn it into love. She might like you but has no real feelings for you " he said.

Damien looked up to see Mila busy with her work.

"How do I do it then?" he said.

"You sound determined " laughed Ian.

"I can't afford to lose her...she's all I need," he said.
