Cleo's eyes watered as her heart leaped at his question. She had been expecting it, had rehearsed her reaction in her mind, but nothing could prepare her for the sight of him there, on one knee, a gleaming ring held out before her. The world faded away, and all she could see were his lips moving as he asked if she would marry him. Hell, she would!

"Yes! Yes, yes! I'll marry you!!" Cleo exclaimed, practically leaping from her chair as Keiran stood up too. They enveloped each other in a tight, warm hug, and Keiran pressed his lips to hers before pulling away to slip the ring onto her finger—a delicate piece that sparkled like a star fallen from the heavens, radiating the promise of their love.

A tear rolled down Cleo's cheek as she stared at the ring now adorning her finger. Overwhelmed with emotion, she hugged Keiran again, burying her face in his chest as soft sobs escaped her.
