32: Letters To Family

Stepping away from the door, she made her way to the small shelf on the wall. With nimble fingers, she shuffled through the books until she found what she was looking for—parchments and envelopes, neatly stacked away. She intended to write to her parents and her closest friends.

Carrying the papers and envelopes to her study table, she set them down with purpose. The golden afternoon light streamed through the tall window, casting a soft glow across the room. She pulled out the first sheet of parchment and readied her quill. Dipping it into the inkwell, she began to write, the soft scratching of the quill filling the silence.

"'Dear Mama and Papa,...'"

She poured her heart into the letter, her words a mix of longing and excitement. The moment she finished, she carefully signed her name at the bottom, then took a moment to read over the letter, ensuring every word was perfect. Satisfied, she slipped the letter into one of the envelopes.
