The slip to a chance

"Rena, think about what you are doing," The man said as she kept on staring at the water, knowing her life was rough just like it.

As tears ran down her pink cheeks and a simple smile appeared on her face, the young girl closed her eyes and breathed in the fresh air around her.

The girl had already decided she would not return with them no matter what.

"Don't do it," The woman said and Nessa chuckled as the guards rushed towards her and her eyes widened as she looked back at them.

"Jump, child; I guarantee you'll live," Someone said with a calm and soothing voice that echoed through her head, Rena looked at the man and woman who were about to grab her when the wind started blowing hard and the water became rougher, causing the pier to shake and Rena's feet to slip and she hit her head before falling into the water as the man and woman screamed her name while looking down in the rough water but saw nothing.

While the girl was submerging deeper into the water, she noticed a ray of sunlight shining on the water and her eyes began to close as everything in front of her went blank.

'Did I die?' Rena wondered as she felt pain in her head from hitting it, and she opened her eyes and gasped when she found herself floating in the air that sparkled with different colors, and beneath her was a floor that looked like the stars, and her eyes shook as she swallowed, confused about what was going on.

"Where am I now? Is this the afterlife? Do I go to hell?" Rena inquired as someone chuckled and she lowered her head as a fair, slim woman with long blue silky hair appeared before her, and she left staring at her.

"Hello, you are Rena, right?" The woman asked and Rena nodded.

"Am I dead now" Rena asked, and the woman chuckled before looking at her and leaning in closer, and Rena backed away a little.

"You're not dead, Rena, I told you to jump, this isn't supposed to happen, but it did, so clearly you didn't belong in that world, I have a few questions for you, will you be kind enough to answer them and listen to what I have to say?" The woman asked.

Despite her confusion, Rena felt compelled to listen to what she had to say and sighed.

"I will listen," She responded and the woman smiled at her.

"Were you planning on jumping?" She asked.

"I can swim, I would have survived, but then the sudden storm, everything became a mess, but I don't think I would care whether I would have survived or not," Rena responded and the woman chuckled.

"You are an intriguing character, I heard a plea and couldn't ignore it as well, you are a good person Rena, so you are getting an option today, more like a chance at another life in another place, to start over, will you accept it?" Rena stared at her, her lips curled in hesitation, unsure how to respond to the question about the one thing she had always desired.

"Rena, you are free to choose; this is a choice that can only be made by you and not against your will; relax a little and think about it," Rena frowned as she thought about what she had been through in her life.

"I- I want a good life, but, I guess this is better than a lot of other things out there so yes, I accept it," Rena replied and the woman smiled brightly.

"That's a good decision you made there, I'll explain everything to you soon enough, you have to pay close attention to what I'm saying so relax a little," The woman said as Rena looked at her before nodding.

"Good, upon entering this world, you will be given a simple system, similar to what you would see in a game, you do know what those are right?" She asked and Rena's eyes narrowed.

"I was not completely isolated, yes, I do," She responded and the woman chuckled.

"Good, then note that the system will not be giving you powers, but will be guiding you, you will have to get stronger on your own, you will be gifted a lot of abilities, some of which the system may not be able to help with, and you will have to seek help for others if necessary."

"This world is different from books; it's filled with dangers, demons, and most of the things you can imagine; you'll have to be careful; I'm not at liberty to give you more information about that part; however, you'll be involved in mixed realms," She said and Rena smiled.

"Anything else?" Rena asked and the woman glanced at her.

"Yes, there are a few more things you should know, there is someone who wanted something so you will be staying with a certain family, I know you want to know more, but this is all I can tell you, you didn't belong in the world you came from." She responded and Rena's eyes narrowed then she sighed.

"Are you sure you understand everything?" She inquired.

"I understand everything you've told me thus far, and I'll be cautious as well," The woman smiled and patted Rena on the shoulder as she responded.

"Good, I'm glad you do, because you're about to embark on an exciting new journey, well I hope you enjoy it at least, it won't be easy either," She said.

"I understand, after all, nothing in my life has ever been easy; I hope I can handle it; I won't complain too much; at the very least, I have another chance," Rena replied, and the woman sighed and smiled.

"You are a really nice person, I'm glad the heavy wind knocked you down, if it hadn't you might not even be here with us today, now it's time to get you ready to leave, you will be a new person after this, you will be the only one who will be more different than others, so be careful, you are going to get a lot of surprises," The woman said.

"Now Rena, can you close your eyes for me?" She asked and Rena closed her eyes as the woman's body started glowing red and green.
