Interrupted

Sheng Tian no longer wore his confident expression and was instead much more cautious than before. He was slightly crouched like a tiger and held his sword parallel to the ground.

The Lotus fairy Master smiled, "One With Nature makes it to where my opponents are unable to completely grasp my existence. They see me, yet they don't at the same time. As a wood cultivator, it is much easier for me to grasp this power compare to others"

Then, with graceful movements, she made several hand seals in quick succession with her free hand.

Sheng Tian lurched into action when he saw that the Lotus fairy Master was preparing another technique, "Not a chance!"

Whoosh!

He slashed down his sword, only to miss his strike. The Lotus Fairy Master seemed to have moved back from where she once stood in an instant. Sheng Tian grit his teeth and lunged forward again, this time going for a horizontal strike.

Whoosh!

Once again, he didn't manage to land a hit. Sheng Tian looked up just in time to find the Lotus Fairy Master a few feet away from him.

Her elegant voice resounded across the grassy field, "Overgrowth Domain!"

Rumble!

The ground shook and heaved upwards, knocking Sheng Tian to the ground. In an instant, hundreds of tree saplings rose from the dirt. Sheng Tian tried to get up and cut down as many of the saplings as possible.

It was useless, the saplings grew and grew until they were trees over 10 meters in height, gaining incredible toughness and vitality. Any piece that he cut down would only grow into another tree, further limiting room and his visibility.

Swish!

Sheng Tian twisted his body just as a sword was about to impale him. He swung his sword only to be met with air.

"Humph!"

Sheng Tian made a hand seal and poured a tenth of his qi into his technique.

"Sky Sword River!"

Hundreds of swords appeared in the sky and pointed straight down. With a thought, the swords rained down.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

The swords shot down all around Sheng Tian, lacerating the trees and ripping up the ground. Just as the last sword fell, he made a second hand seal.

BOOOM!

He detonated the swords all at the same time, creating a terrifying explosion that sent shockwaves in all directions.

Once all the debris settled, none of the trees stood, however the Lotus fairy Master was nowhere to be found.

Sheng Tian heard a rustling sound and turned around, only to see the bits and pieces of wood sprouting and growing once more.

Fwoom!

The Primordial Chaos Dragon Flame appeared on the tip of his finger and rose into the sky. It then turned into a black and purple dragon and dived towards the ground.

"Roar!"

Crackle!

The Primordial Chaos Tyrant Lightning enveloped Sheng Tian to form a red and black cloak, deterring a strike from the Lotus fairy Master.

Fwoom!

The Primordial Chaos Dragon Flame landed and wreaked havoc on the rapidly growing trees. Every root and branch was completely incinerated, leaving regeneration out of the question.

Sheng Tian looked at the Lotus Fairy Master who had revealed herself. The ground had turned barren and devoid of life, enlightening Sheng Tian on the nature of her ability.

"I see, One With Nature requires that you have a 'nature' that matches yours in the surroundings. Now that all the vegetation is gone, you can no longer maintain that state"

She smiled, "As expected of a genius, you've determined the root of my ability in such a short amount of time"

Sheng Tian smirked, "What was that about curbing my arrogance?"

"We'll see about that"

Bang!

The Lotus Fairy Master stomped the ground and huge stakes rose from the ground and towards Sheng Tian. Sheng Tian raised his sword in response.

"Heavenly Asura Sword Slash!"

A huge red and blue blade met the wooden stakes head on, destroying them all and continued towards the Lotus Fairy Master. The Lotus Fairy Master raised her sword and channeled her qi.

"Holy Goddess's Sword!"

Golden light filled the sky and an elegant sword projection met the Heavenly Asura Sword Slash head on.

Bang!

Shockwaves sent the 2 of them flying back. Despite looking like they were evenly matched, Sheng Tian knew that he had been pushed back more in that exchange.

They both stamped their feet down to slow themselves, leaving 4 long lines in the dirt.

Just as they readied their swords for another clash however, a massive explosion caught their attention.

BOOOOM!

The duo entered a truce and looked east at a mountain. One side of it had exploded and is now smoking, on the verge of collapse.

Xiao Hua and Bing Xue descended next to them, "What happened?"

Sheng Tian looked at the Lotus Fairy Master, "Let's call this a draw?"

She nodded, "Alright. We'll have another match next time"

Sheng Tian nodded and prepared to fly over to the mountain.

"Wait!"

He turned back and looked at the Lotus Fairy Master. She hesitated before sending him a voice transmission.

"You can call me by my true name, Yue Ling'er... when we are alone"

A bit taken aback, Sheng Tian processed her words before sending a voice transmission in response, "Alright... Yue Ling'er"

Despite saying this in voice transmission, it still felt very weird to Sheng Tian to call the Lotus Fairy Master by her true name.

Whoosh!

Without wasting any more time, Sheng Tian flew in the direction of the mountain.

Oblivious, Xiao Hua called out to her master, "Master, what did you say to Sheng Tian for him to make that expression- Ow!"

Bing Xue had pinched Xiao Hua's waist, "Stop annoying Master"

Xiao Hua hugged Bing Xue's arm, "Ow~ Eldest Sister, can't you be a little more gentle?"

The 2 of them instantly stopped messing around and composed themselves.

Yue Ling'er looked in the direction that Sheng Tian went, "Lets go check out what's happening"
