Departing

It was obvious that Shang Shi Huo was conflicted. If he were to allow his daughter to go with Sheng Tian, then they would be separated for some time. He won't be able to follow, and even though he trusted the young man, it was still difficult to part with his own flesh and blood.

His mind went back to several years ago...

Rumble!!

Lightning flashed and rain poured down. Trees and all forms of plant life rustled and snapped, swaying with the wind and falling with the rain.

Within a tall, defiant palace which stood against this horrid weather, a child's cry was heard.

Inside a brightly lit room, an old maid stood, holding a crying newborn in her hands. She looked anxiously at the beautiful yet frail woman who laid on the bed.

With some difficulty, she looked at the old maid and smiled, brightening the dim atmosphere.

"...no need to worry about me," she muttered weakly, "...let me see my daughter"
