After being brought up to speed, Wan Mi is of the opinion that, "Maybe they're all working together to kill the people they want to be rid off?"
Wu Yun frowns. "A city-wide murder plot? That would be hard to coordinate." In his experience dealing with humans, it's hard enough to get two of them to agree on what to have for a meal, let alone on how to kill someone and keep it a secret.
"Maybe we'll have a clearer picture after learning what your friends found out?" Shu Luan says.
"Right, they went to see the Diao family, maybe we can meet them there." Wu Yun steps away for a moment, and asks a nearby turnip seller for directions towards the Diao house.
The man sends him on the right path, but only after he agrees to buy some of his turnips.
He thrusts the waxpaper parcel at Shu Luan. "Here, for you."
Shu Luan smiles. "A token of your appreciation, I'm sure."
"Whatever makes you happy," he answers, distractedly.
