Adriana watched mutely for the initial seconds as the masked man heated the chisel from a black flame on his palm, his lips parting to give way for his slithering tongue. The masked man licked his lower lip in anticipation through the mouth space of his mask.

Nebra's eyes went wide as the heated chisel sunk into an open wound on her shoulder, plunged into its bony depths of inky-black blood. A guttural scream rose out from the depths of Nebra's gut, resonating through the thin walls for some seconds before her throat gave up, hoarse.

The sound seemed to activate Adriana's instincts and her body slurred as adrenaline coursed through her veins, the demon's bane residue nulled the effect of the adrenaline, giving her only enough energy to clench her fists.
