Entrance assessment II

Everyone present for the entrance assessment was ready, most were actually confident in their magic prowess, but some like Iode who are just one star mages_ not too well, they just have to try.

"Come in groups of twenty and hit those scales". Magus Graynold said out loud.

Twenty aspirant came out of the crowd, but a boy stood out of them, he was brimming with confidence, walked up to one the measuring scale and shouted

"Ventus procella". A gust of heavy wind came from his staff he was holding and hits the hit button.

A whooping "20,000" was written on the rectangular screen, which was the highest in the group he is. The boy smirked and left the spot.

"As expected of Sylvester of the Inglid family, his parents are high level mages after all". A girl in green ropes said, she is Angelica Moore daughter of Magus Garrick Moore of the green tower.

"Another set of twenty people should come forward". Magus Graynold said.

Angelica went with this set. She stood in front of a measuring scale and said

"Aqua torpedos". Jet of water stream flew towards the hit button and a "19,999" was shown on the rectangular screen.

"What!!! How is that possible, i clearly hit has hard as him, how am i one point lower, is this thing defective". Angelica shouted in frustration.

"Next set". Magus Graynold said.

Sylvester snickered in his spot, Angelica was fuming with anger. People in set of twenty were attempting the challenge, most actually passed and some failed.

"Next". Magus Graynold said.

This time Iode decides to go with the present set. His heart was throbbing very loud, as if it was going to burst out of his chest.

"I'm in no way as strong as those people who came from the noble households, but I'll try my best again and hopefully luck follows me" he said in his mind.

Iode secretly wished he at least get the cutoff scores as he has seen people actually have that luck. He stood in front of a measuring scale and took a deep breath then he said a magic spell

"Terra fault". Bars of earth shot out of the ground and hits the hit button giving a "10,000" point. Iode was elated, he was happy he hit the cutoff score.

"It seems the luck spirit is with me, i hope it continues this way". He said in his mind and can't even hide his happiness.

Of all people who came for the assessment, Iode got Magus Graynold attention.

"What's that purple aura around that boy? Is he an advance level mage that just want to enter the academy through the entrance assessment? No, his magic prowess is too low for an advance level mage, he just hit 10,000 points, did he hide his power?"

"No, I saw the look on his face, like he was scared, let's see your star level, Innate eyes". Magus Graynold said in his mind as he watched Iode join the crowd.

"He, he, he's just a single star mage and he already has an aura, is he no, Bradford and Sara must know about this, even though they would have seen him". Magus Graynold thought.

The first assessment was finished, about 800 aspirant passed, the first assessment was quite easy as many passed. The ones that failed were asked to go home as they have nothing left to do. It now time for the second assessment.

This would be Iode's second time to reach the second challenge. In the past, when he took the assessment, his first and second attempts he failed at the first challenge. His third attempt he reached the second challenge but that's where he failed.

His last one, he regressed, he failed at the first challenge again. This is his fifth attempt, reaching the second challenge has given him hope not to give up as Iode has already made up his mind not to try anymore if he fails this time.

Magus Sara came forward and said

"The second challenge is Mana sensitivity, how would you last under heavy Mana pressure. Twenty aspirant at a time will enter each of those compactments".

"The Mana pressure will increase at a steady pace, there are ten levels the Mana pressure will go and if you take eight of it, you pass, so prepare".
