Chapter 13

Two weeks had passed since Henry's arrest. His trial was soon to take place and Sophie knew he had no chance of escaping prison. Good riddance. He had nearly killed her in a fit of anger. He deserved nothing less.

Fortunately, Jim had been there. He had saved her life, yet again. Speaking of him, Sophie couldn't stop thinking about him and the embrace they had shared before she was attacked. It had felt so good. They were supposed to meet tonight to "talk," and she was waiting for him to send her instructions on where to meet.

Around 7 pm, the phone in her pocket vibrated. She unlocked it to see who had sent the message. To her delight, it was Jim. The message was brief but suggestive enough for Sophie to understand what he wanted.

Tonight. 10 pm. In the forest near the lake.

Sophie knew exactly where to meet him. It was his cabin near the lake where they had made love for the first time. Sophie knew that if she wanted to win Jim back, she had to make an effort. Sophie was touched and happy. She kissed her lover with all the love she could give.

The couple fell asleep in each other's arms, fulfilled and in love.

Sophie and Jim were officially together. And they were the envy of many.

Sophie's best friend had taken the news with the greatest joy. She approved 100%! "This guy is a living god. And I find you changed. You look so good. I'm so happy for you," she said to her.

Sophie's parents had taken the news well. Despite her father's initial reluctance about this bad boy's appearance, he quickly changed his mind when he saw how much his little girl was thriving.

Sophie's ex-best friend was really upset. Not only had Henry been convicted and would not be released from prison for another five years, but Sophie had also stolen the limelight from her with the male population. Although there was only Jim in her eyes, guys turned around to look at her on the street, and most of them had a hard time taking their eyes off this wonderful woman.

In these last days of vacation, Sophie was not ready to say goodbye to this time of rest. She and Jim had decided to spend time just the two of them, and to enjoy it even more before the start of the school year.

A big smile had just appeared on his face.
