Healer | Yuzuru Hanyu

Mia was a strong woman. Raising a child by yourself is never an easy task. Doing it while studying to become one of the best lawyers in the country is even harder. Her distrust in men isn't unjustified and for 8 years she kept as much distance from any member of the male species as possible. That's until a certain skater shows up in Toronto and turns her whole life around.

They kissed for a bit more before Mia dragged Yuzuru out of bed to order breakfast from room service while Alex was still sleeping peacefully.

The skater seemed to take every opportunity to wrap his arms around her and place small pecks on her cheeks, shoulders, or even her lips, making her giggle like a schoolgirl every time he did.

"This shirt of yours was made to tempt me" he whispered in her ear just before room service finally arrived.

"You can always look at my face and ignore what I'm wearing."

"You say that as if it's simple."

"You men are too predictable."

Yuzuru seemed to take that as a challenge and wasted no time in taking off the t-shirt he was wearing and dropping it on the ground.

Mia gasped at the gesture and the newly exposed skin. She had seen enough through the pictures of the damned costume to know what to expect, but seeing the real thing was still a completely different experience.

"What were you saying about looking at your face and ignoring what you were wearing?"

Mia pouted cutely and he kissed her lips.

"You're adorable" he told her in between kisses.

The woman took the opportunity of his naked torso to softly explore the hard naked skin beneath her.

"And you look too good to be true." She said after they finally parted ways after a while and Yuzuru got dressed again.

"Likewise, love."

"So, what's the plan for today?"

"I have rehearsal... That I can't miss this time."

"I wouldn't ask you to. I'm sure me and Alex can explore the city without getting too lost."

"Or you could come, see the rehearsal, and then we could go out together."

As nice as it sounded, Mia had seen Yuzuru's face plastered in at least 6/7 ads since she arrived in Japan. As much as she would have loved to be out with him, she had a feeling that it would be almost impossible to do something like that without them being swarmed by photographers or fans full of questions.

"You know how many fans of yours are around the streets, right?"

Yuzuru looked defeated for a while but recovered quickly.

"In Sendai then. We are safe there."

"If you're sure, I would love to have your company, you know that."

"Yeah."

"Besides, watching the rehearsal would make the performance more boring. I want to see it all during the performance."

"I think that's a good idea."

Another kiss and he was all happy again, excited about taking her into his hometown and living somewhat of a normal life for once.

"Good morning." They heard from the bed and Mia's eyes widened as she pushed Yuzuru slightly. He didn't take it personally since he understood that Mia wanted to take things slow in front of Alex.

"Hey baby, you rested well?"

"Yes. Hi Yuzuru."

"Hey" he answered awkwardly.

"You have breakfast on the table if you want." Mia told her son to break the tension in the room and it worked well. Alex never refused food, especially breakfast.

"Do you mind if I have a shower?" Yuzuru asked her and she immediately said yes, watching him disappear into the room.

"Mom" her son called out while eating.

"Yes, Alex?"

"I don't mind seeing you and Yuzuru together, you don't have to hide from me."

He sounded so serious that she realized he was more grown up than she was used to. Alex may only be 8, but being raised with just one parent made him more mature than most kids of his age.

"We're no hiding, Alex. We're still figuring things out."

"Hum, but you like him."

"You like him too. It's just that we have very different lives. Yuzuru is here in Japan and we are in Toronto."

"You always said that we could go somewhere else if I wanted to. What if we stay here?"

Alex's suggestion caught her by surprise. He knew he was doing his best to fix all of the problems that distanced both of them from the skater but he was also too young to think of other things.

"It isn't that easy, darling."

"But mom..."

"No, I have my job and you have your school. We can't even speak Japanese. This is not a transition you can make just because you feel like it."

"I wish we could."

"I know, me too."

"And Yuzu could be my daddy."

Mia almost spit the water she was drinking when her son said that out loud. And obviously, Yuzuru chose that perfect time to come out from the bathroom, clearly earing what the boy had said from the expression on his face.

"I would like that a lot, Alex"

Yuzuru recovered quicker than her, and only to surprise her with just another hit.

The skater ruffled the head of the boy with a big smile and sat by her side, not even bothering to hide from Alex as he kissed her cheek.

"Yuzu..." She warned. It was too easy to get attached to this. So easy that she even considered researching how to learn Japanese quickly.

But just like every single other time when they had something serious to discuss, his phone rang and he immediately took it, speaking a rapid Japanese that she didn't understand but switched to English soon after.

"It's no problem, I will be there soon."

When he disconnected the call, Mia didn't need him to say anything, but he still did.

"I have to go, David wants some help to finish the choreography... Okay?"

"Yeah, I will see you later?" She asked, unsure of how they were leaving things.

"I'll let you know when I'm out of the arena so we can meet."

"Ok." Was all she answered, almost too afraid say anything else.

"Behave for me, okay, buddy? Let your mom enjoy her vacation time."

"I will take care of Mom for you!" The kid said, surprising Mia once again before they hugged in goodbye.

"Enjoy your day." Yuzuru said as he turned towards her and pecked her lips without any caution or care whatsoever.

"You too." That was all she managed to utter before he left the door.

If Mia was screwed before, she had no idea what to do now.
