Target practice

Since Chester has no experience in shooting firearms back in his past life, he decided to practice it first if he can shoot accurately.

He looks around his surroundings to use as a target, then he found an apple tree.

"Hmm, imma try shooting that apple." he takes out his MCX-30 Assault rifle and aims it at the fruit, he didn't know his firing mode was in full auto, when he pulled the trigger, he stumbled back due to the knockback force of the weapon's recoil, not 1 single bullet hit the fruit.

"Argh, that hurts..." his HUD shows that his primary weapon is in Full Auto, he checks his rifle to see if there's a firing mode selector, he inspects it and saw the selector switch, he then puts it to Single fire.

As a former gamer, he couldn't stand it if his gun has 22 bullets left in his mag, so he did as to what almost all FPS gamers do, he reloaded his gun.

"That's better!" he uttered

He wanted to shoot the fruit again, but this time, he sets his firing mode to single fire, he aims his gun at the fruit and pulls the trigger, the bullet hit the fruit above him.

"Alright, let's try shooting a target in full auto." he looks for a tree to use as target practice, he wanted a target that's far away from him, then he found himself a target tree, which is 103 meters away from him.

Before he fires his weapon, he breathes in deeply, stiffens his arms and shoulders and prepares to pull the trigger. The gun fires in full auto, the recoil was easily controlled by him, all his shots landed on his target, he emptied all his ammo in his current mag, after that, he transitions to his Grenade launcher, he remembered that grenade launchers have an arc, he lifted his rifle higher to increase the launcher's range and pulls the trigger, the grenade launches and lands at the distance, creating a minimal explosion, but destructive against enemies.

"How about this sniper rifle...?" he takes out his APXS-20mm and puts his assault rifle at his back, he sets up the tripod and sat down, upon aiming down his scope, he noticed that there are numbers in the scope which he didn't understand very well.

"Wait, what do these numbers mean...?" he uttered.

"100? 200? 300?! what?" he reads the numbers and couldn't understand a single thing, then a pop up on his HUD appeared. He opened the pop up, and luckily its an instruction on how to use a Sniper rifle.

"Hoh! finally some instructions!" he reads the instructions on how the aiming ruler works in a sniper rifle scope.

After reading the instructions for half an hour, he prepares his sniper. He reads a specific note that he'll require a spotter to identify the range of his target.

"Note, you'll need a spotter to land your shots accurately..." he looks around him, realising that he's all alone.

"...right, I'm all alone..." he uttered.

suddenly something came up to his mind, he remembered while scrolling through his equipment section, he passed by a spotter scope. he opens his current loadout and edits his equipment, he replaced his heartbeat sensor for a laser spotter scope.

"Alright, i got myself a spotter scope!" he uses his spotter scope, rangefinding his target, which is 700 meters from him.

"700 meters." he aims down the scope, adjusts the magnification to 13x zoom and raises the rifle to the 5th notch. He pulled the trigger and fires, the bullet veered off to the left slight and it landed above the tree trunk, However he was not satisfied about the results since he wanted to land his shot at the center of the trunk.

He resorted back to reading the instructions, he's already sure that he did what the instructions told him to do, he then wondered if there are other manuals for a certain sniper rifle. He clicked on the help button, he tries finding the instructions for certain types of weapons, in the weapons manual section, he clicked on it and selected the sniper rifle category, after clicking the snipers, he saw the APXS-20mm Aiming ruler guide.

"Okay, let's see what we got here..." he clicked on the APXS-20mm, an image shows him the layout of the sniper's scope, the center is 250 meters in range, the first notch is 370 meters (Add 120 to 250) the second notch is 490 meters (Add 120 to 370), the third notch is 610 meters (Add 120 to 490) the fourth notch is 730 meters (Add 120 to 610) the fifth notch is 850 meters (Add 120 to 610) the sixth notch is 970 meters (Add 120 to 850) the seventh notch is 1090 meters (Add 120 to 970) and the eighth notch is 1210 meters (Add 120 to 1090)

"Alright, now that we have the range, I'll try it again, but this time I'll estimate the wind" he chambers another bullet and takes out his spotter scope, the distance reads that his target is 700 meters. He places his target 4 and a half notches, he then observes the grass's movements which moved slightly to the left, he then adjust his rifle to the right slightly to compensate for the wind. He breathes in, pulls the trigger and fires, the shot hit the center of the trunk, he is satisfied of his results.

"Alright..." after that he spotted something moving below the tree, a squirrel appeared.

"Ho ho, hey there little fella..." he took out his spotter scope and measures the distance of the squirrel, which is 697 meters. he places the squirrel 4 and a half notches and adjust his deflection to -4. he breathes in and prepares to fire, when he is about to pull the trigger, the squirrel ran away. he breathes out after breathing in for a short time.

"Dammit!" he uttered.

"Well, I'll probably get used to this sniper rifle." he stood up and picks up the rifle, he arranges the tripod and puts the rifle at his back, he then pulled out his MCX-30 rifle and walks on foot. Suddenly his stomach started rumbling.

"I better get myself something to eat..."

"Does this world have a village or city i can visit?" he questioned.

At his left, 10 meters away from him, a large path leading to somewhere, probably a village or a city. Curious about the path, he walked up to the path and followed to the right side of the path.
