Someone Is In The House

The morning after Kaia officially came out. Caine was reading the news. His brows furrowed the more pictures, videos, and testimonies that he saw over the internet. He scrolled a little lower and stopped seeing the picture of Kaia and Alex kissing. Growling through his teeth, Caine clinched the pen in his hand harder and harder until it snapped.

At that time, Karen was walking into the office with his morning coffee. Karen tilted her head slowly walking to his desk. "Mr. Martsching? Is something a matter?" She questioned setting his cup down before walking behind to look over his shoulder. Karen bit her lip lightly. She wasn't supposed to know about Kaia, so she asked," Isn't that Kaia Crestfall? I thought she passed away years ago." 

Caine slammed his hands on his desk as he stood up. He looked at Karen," Just go away! Now!" He yelled it, openly expressing his anger. Karen nodded softly to him and made her way to the door. Before she left she turned, "Excuse me, let me know if you need anything." Karen quickly retreated from the room going to her own desk. She sat down at her computer pulling up her email that she used to contact Todd.

Caine found out about Kaia. There were photos and videos posted on the internet. Message Naomi and let her know about it.]

Just as fast as Karen typed and sent it, She went through and wiped her computer of emails that way no one would ever know she sent it from the company. Caine stormed out of his office grabbing his coat from the coat hanger that stood near Karen's desk. Karen stood up, but Caine held up his hand."I'm going out for a bit, don't wait. Just go home tonight," He stated, slinging his jacket over his shoulders walking out of the office.

Caine went to his company car and sat down in the back seat, pulling out his phone. He pulled up a very familiar number pressing dial while leaning back against the seat. The person on the other end of the call answered with a 'hello.' Caine glared at the seat in front of him."Kaia's back. Did you see the news?" He asked pulling the phone away telling the driver to drive. The other end of the line went silent for a little bit. Caine could hear a keyboard through the phone, knowing the person was looking it up. Tapping his phone lightly, Caine waited for the person to say something first.

"x" slowly typed on the computer on his end, looking up the details that Caine described to him. He got to the article and slowly began to scroll through the materials. With a groan, he ran a hand through his hair. "Caine, get rid of her. The best way to do that is through the kid. Get the kid, and you can control them," He exclaimed before angrily hanging up the phone.

Little did "x" know a shadow figure lurked behind him looking over the materials that were on his screen. The figure pulled back immediately before 'x' noticed and quickly went to a secluded room in the house.

Alex awoke earlier than Kaia. He went to the kitchen making breakfast, just like when they first married. The house quickly filled with the smell of pancakes.

The smell finally reached Kaia, and she quickly popped her head up from the bed. She sniffed the air, a smile spreading across her lips as she slowly slipped out of bed. She pulled on one of Alex's shirts and walked out to the kitchen, stretching her arms along the way.

As she got to the counter, Kaia's gaze met with Alex's, and they both grinned at each other. Alex smirked pulling a plate out of the cabinet's above. He quickly plated the meal he prepared, placing the pan into the sink. Smiling, Alex turned to Kaia and swiftly put his arms around her, pulling her close to him. His grin was becoming bigger and bigger as he leaned in to kiss her cheek then her neck."Good morning love," He said softly into her ear.

That alone made Kaia weak to her knee's. She held onto him with her arms and smiled, "If you keep going I'm going to die." Alex chuckled under his breath and nodded lightly. "Okay. Okay, well sit and eat. I need to go to the company," He said, and that make Kaia frown lightly. "I just got back; I thought you would take some time..." She stopped and shook her head," Never mind. I understand. I'll come later on. I'm going to set up the spare room for Alexa. I think she will be excited to move in with her daddy." Alex smiled and nodded. He leaned down and kissed her softly. "I'll get Zac or Naomi to bring Alexa home in a little bit, "He said walking back to their room to get dressed.

Kaia sat at the counter and sighed softly. It's been years, and she's back here in the same place. This time her love was stronger than before, and she wouldn't have it any other way.

After Alex left for work, Kaia got to work on the guest bedroom. She walked in to find all of her old stuff still there. This made Kaia's heart break a little bit. It clearly showed he never got over or stopped thinking about her. He didn't have the heart to throw away or get rid of her existence. Kaia began to take out some old boxes, going through the things she didn't need anymore and keepsakes. 

Making the room spotless, Kaia changed the sheets and began to place a few things she knew Alexa would enjoy, to decorate it a little. Hours would pass, and she was now putting some boxes in the attic. Kaia climbed down from the attic ladder and sighed, dusting off her hands. Alexa didn't arrive yet, so she was going to text Alex to find out what was going on.

Kaia walked into Alexa's room and grabbed her phone. She went to look for the number but stopped hearing the back, glass, door shatter. Hearing some whispers and footsteps through the house, she didn't hesitate to get into the closet. Kaia got in and slowly closed the door. No one would shatter the back door. Why were they there? How? The villa was in a tightly secured area.

Shaking, Kaia pulled her phone up finding Alex's number. She pressed talk and held it up to her ear. Alex didn't answer, so Kaia softly talked to the voicemail. "Alex... Someone is in the house. Someone broke in. Keep Alexa with you," She whispered her voice trembling as she heard the heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. Kaia bit her lip lightly, her fear gathering more than anything. Tears slowly emerged to her eyes as she hung up the phone to call again. This time Alex answered the phone. "Hey Kaia, "she knew he didn't hear the voicemail because his voice told her he was smiling.

Biting down on her lip, Kaia hid back further into the corner of the closet. "Alex, someone broke into the house," She said, her voice choking out in a whisper. Alex Immediately froze, "Where are you? Can you get out?" He asked as he quickly ran out of his office. He passed Naomi and yelled at her to keep hold of Alexa. Alexa stayed longer than planned so she could spend some time with Alex, even though he was working.

Kaia wiped the stray tears hearing the men in the house talk. "Where is she?" One griped. "Alex, they're after me. I can't get out of the house," She whispered. "Alex, I don't know what to do. Keep Alexa safe," She mumbled with a flinch as one of the men decided to fire a shot into the ceiling. Kaia wailed lightly, and she covered her mouth. Tears were now streaming down her face. She knew that gave away her hiding place for sure. Alex froze at the sound. "Kaia! Kaia! are you okay!? I am on my way!" He exclaimed, jumping off the elevator running to the door.

On the way out he bumped into Zac. Alex grabbed Zac pulling him along. "Zac! Call the cops, send them to the villa now!" He said as they got into the car. Kaia whimpered," Alex they're coming! I love you." As the last word escaped her lip, the closet doors burst open. Kaia kicked and screamed as the two men pulled her from the closet.

All Alex heard the screams, and his heart stopped. "Kaia! Kaia! Damn it!" He growled, throwing the phone to the dashboard of the car. Zac looked at him and frowned. "We will find out what's going on; she will be ok," He said, trying to reassure him. Alex glared at him, "I'm supposed to protect her! She just got back, and I already failed!" He screamed, speeding the car down the street.
