Pro's spell homed in on Neville and successfully levitated him in place a couple of feet off the ground. However, the spell didn't last long as Pro could feel a heavy strain while keeping the spell active for the first time. It wasn't known if it was because Neville was too heavy or if there was outside interference, but the spell deactivated on its own not long after and Neville continued to fall a short distance before landing face first onto the ground with a scream.
Madam Hooch hurried over to check on Neville, "Just some bruises and bloody nose. Come on, boy. It's all right, up you get."
After helping Neville up, Madam Hooch turned towards Pro and nodded with a smile, "Well done, boy! Flitwick will be proud of your Levitation Charm. 10 points to Gryffindor."
Pro nodded back with a smile as he glanced at the quest completion page that popped up.
[Congratulations! You have completed Broom Accident Quest. You are awarded: 1 Quest Point, 100 Agility XP]
With a firework exploding in his system interface, Pro was notified that his agility level was raised to level 7. Pro had always wondered if there will be a skill to do with Quidditch, and it seems that the agility skill might be the one, but Pro still didn't know the specifics yet.
Although Neville was only slightly injured, Madam Hooch still decided to take him to the hospital wing because of his bloody nose. Then, the following destined plot occurred as expected.
Watching Harry blasting off after Neville's remembrall despite the warning of Hermione, Pro's mouth twitched a bit as he knew he would never take that risk. Sometimes Pro wonders why he was even assigned to Gryffindor.
Before Harry could celebrate his successful catching of the remembrall, McGonagall magically showed up, "HARRY POTTER!"
Harry was then taken away by the stern-faced, yet soft-hearted teacher. Ron and Hermione scurried up to Pro as Ron couldn't help but nervously utter, "What do we do? What do we do? McGonagall never favors Gryffindor. What will happen to Harry?"
Hermione also chimed in, "I told him that he shouldn't have. Now he probably will get us all in trouble!"
"Hermione! What do you understand? You-" Ron was about to argue but was cut off by Pro before he can say something insensitive.
"Don't worry you two. I'm sure Harry will be alright," Pro comforted with a laid back tone.
Blinking his eyes, Ron stared at Pro while uttering in disbelief, "Blimey, Pro. I thought you were Harry's friend, why do you not look worried at all?"
"Well, just think about it for a bit. Although Professor McGonagall looked angry, based on her words, she seemed to be more worried than angry. Also, it wasn't completely Harry's fault as Malfoy was the instigator. Harry will probably be fine after a lecture, probably he might even come back with a surprise," Pro explained.
Hermione nodded in agreement after a bit of thought while Ron stared forward in a daze before mumbling, "Blimey, I hope you're right mate."
During dinner, Harry excitedly told the group that he had been chosen as the Seeker for the Quidditch team. Unlike the shocked Ron that sat and gaped at Harry, Pro calmly continued to eat his meal. Hermione only glanced up for a bit before returning to her book, not caring much as she was friends with Pro, not Harry.
It didn't take long for Draco Malfoy to come and provoke Harry. After Malfoy dropped his challenge for a Midnight Duel, he strolled away under the frown of Hermione. Seeing Harry and Ron excitedly discussing the ins and outs of a duel as if they were going to go, Hermione couldn't help but butt in to warn them, "I couldn't help overhearing what you and Malfoy were saying-"
"Bet you could," Ron muttered.
"-and you mustn't go wandering around the school at night, think of the points you'll lose Gryffindor if you're caught, and you're bound to be. It's really very selfish of you," Hermione continued in a bossy tone.
"And it's really none of your business," said Harry.
"Pro hasn't even said anything yet, why are you being so nosy," Ron snapped as he glanced at Pro.
Hermione also turned over to look at Pro while huffing in anger, "What an idiot! Pro, you try to talk to these two daft dimbos!"
Glancing up at Hermione, Pro gently smiled and reached out to hold her little hand. Giving her hand a light squeeze, Pro soothed her by saying, "Don't worry, I'll watch over them."
Hermione pulled back her hand with a blush and returned to reading her book quietly. Turning around to glance at the boys, Pro gave them a shrug while Ron mumbled, "Only you could handle someone like her, Pro."
The moonlight seeped in from the window of the dorm room as the soft snoozing of the other boys sounded in the room. Pro laid awake while secretly grinding magic XP under his blanket, and Pro heard the whisper of Ron as expected.
"Half-past eleven," Ron muttered at last, "we'd better go."
Seeing Harry and Ron get up, Pro followed along to their surprise. Harry vigilantly stared at Pro as he whispered, "Are you going to stop us, Pro?"
Pro politely smiled back as he whispered, "I know I can't stop you, but I promised to watch over you. So, I can only come along."
Ron gaped his mouth open for a bit before he chuckled, "I knew you had it in you mate."
Of course, Pro didn't tell the truth. The main reason he decided to tag along is because he knew they were going to enter the forbidden room, which he just so happen to need to do for his quest.
Sneaking down to the commons room, Pro wasn't too surprised when the voice of Hermione sounded out from the dark room, "I can't believe you're going to do this, Harry."
As a lamp flicker on, Hermione also managed to see Pro who was behind the two boys, causing her eyes to widen a bit in shock as she exclaimed, "Pro! Not you too! I thought you would know better!"
Pro chuckled a bit as he persuaded, "Well, can't stop them. We might as well follow them to make sure they don't get caught. After all, can you trust these two to go out alone?"
"Blimey, what do you mean by that Pro?" Ron exclaimed with a hint of dissatisfaction.
Pro shrugged before he looked at Hermione with a smile, "You coming?"
Hermione bit her lips a bit in deep thought. Pro chuckled and reached out to grab her hand, pulling her along.
"Eeep!" Hermione cutely squealed a bit but failed to struggle out of Pro's hand.
So, she could only be obediently pulled out into the corridor. After the portrait swung close behind them, Pro finally released the blushing Hermione's hand. Hermione glared at him before she turned around to see the empty portrait. Her mouth gaped a bit before she turned back to ask shrilly, "You knew?"
Pro shrugged as Ron grumbled, "Why did you even bring her with us, Pro?"
"Hermione's smart. She may be helpful," Pro stated with a wink towards Hermione.
Hermione flared in anger a bit before she deflated and said, "I'm coming with you."
"You are not, I would rather not have you-" Ron said in a loud voice, but was interrupted by Harry.
"Shut up, the three of you! I heard something," said Harry sharply.
Glancing out, Ron couldn't help but mutter, "Mrs. Norris?"
Of course, it was just Neville trapped outside because he forgot the password. Hence, an extra member tagged along. The group easily sneaked towards the trophy room without being caught.
"The protagonist's luck is truly wonderful. If I had sneaked out alone, I may have been caught already," Pro thought inwardly as he glanced at the two yellow dots on the mini-map that the group just so happened to avoid repeatedly by following Harry.
Arriving at the trophy room, the group did not find Malfoy as expected.
"He's late, maybe he's chickened out," Ron whispered.
"Nope, it's probably a trap. Malfoy set you up, probably wanting you to be caught by Filch," Pro revealed the truth with a shrug.
"Sniff around, my sweet, they might be lurking in a corner. I think I heard whispers," Filch's voice came from the next room.
Harry waved madly at the others, and Pro reached out to tug Neville along. Pro was afraid his extra addition would cause the clumsy Neville to be caught. Filch's voice came from behind the group as Harry led the way forward.
Neville let out a frightened squeak, and almost tripped, but Pro fortunately prevented him from falling. Although there wasn't any armor knocked over, it seemed Filch still heard Neville's squeak."
"They're in here somewhere! I can hear them!" Filch's voice echoed from behind.
The tensed Harry almost caused Pro to smack himself on the face when he alerted Filch by yelling out "Run!"
Following the protagonist usually ended up with no problem. So, Pro diligently chased after Harry who was running seemingly randomly through the castle corridors. Whilst Hermione gasped for breathe as she kept mumbling 'I told you' and the rest wheezed from the short run, Pro calmly stated, "Well, seems it is a trap after all."
Pro helped Neville up and prepared to run again as he grasped Hermione's hand to her confusion. Although the timing was a bit off, Peeves showed up as expected. Harry failed to beg Peeves to stop as Ron triggered the ghost to yell.
With a tug, Pro excitedly dash off with the group and towards the forbidden door at the end of the hallway. Ron moaned in despair when he crashed in the locked door.
"Don't worry, we got Hermione," Pro whispered and nodded towards Hermione while passing her his wand, "Go ahead."
Although Pro also had the unlocking spell, but he was afraid that it might fizzle a couple of times before succeeding so he handed the job to Hermione. Hermione took the wand and aimed it at the lock, "Alohomora!"
The group piled through the door that swung open, shutting it behind them. Whilst the most of the group pressed against the door to listen to outside, Pro took the chance to observe the large, three-headed dog that was stirring from its slumber with drool spilling from its mouth. It didn't take long for Pro to locate the trap door.
Pro could feel Neville tugging on his sleeves, but Pro didn't feel much fear. Worst case would be him pulling the music box out from his inventory. Hearing Harry say that they would be alright, Pro chuckled as he said, "Harry, you might want to take a look behind you before you make a conclusion."
Harry paused for a moment before turning around with the rest. Pro had already tugged Neville towards the door when Harry pulled it open. The screaming group scurried out as Harry slammed the door shut behind them, with the dog almost diving through the door. Without the need to say more, the group dashed off down the corridor.
In the midst of running, Pro opened his quest log to check on the changes in his quest. He noticed the first part of the quest was already crossed out while a new part was added beneath.
[First Year Adventure] Find a way to get pass the three-headed dog and enter the trapdoor.
After a while of running, the group arrived at the Fat Lady's portrait. The sweaty group, with the exception of Pro, silently entered the commons room.
To lighten the mood, Pro chuckled a bit as he said, "So, was that exciting enough? Anyone noticed the trapdoor on the ground?"
"Trapdoor? What trapdoor? I only saw the bloody dog! What do they think they're doing, keeping a thing like that locked up in a school?" Ron exclaimed with a hint of horror.
"At least someone uses their eyes," Hermione snapped as she glanced at Pro, "The dog was standing on a trapdoor. It's obviously guarding something."
Hermione then turned away as she stated, "Now if you don't mind, I'm going to bed before one of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed ... or worse, expelled."
Pro chuckled as he whispered, "Thanks for coming with us, Hermione. Good night."
Hermione paused for a moment before she whispered back, "Good night, Pro."
Seeing Hermione leaving, Ron couldn't help but mumble towards Pro, "I still can't believe you'd dragged her along with us."
Pro cheekily replied, "She managed to save us by opening the door didn't she? We're lucky to have her by our side."
Harry chimed in, "He's right, Ron. We should thank her."
Ron grumbled to himself and Pro didn't hear what he said. Pro didn't care and he stated, "Let's head off to bed shall we?"
Harry nodded before the group headed up. Pro pulled along the still pale Neville and helped him along, gaining his gratitude. Glancing at this friend list, Pro noticed two new names popping up on it, Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter.
"It seems that you got to be reckless with the reckless boy in order to gain his friendship," Pro thought to himself with a hint of mirth.
With that, Pro took some time to calm his mind before falling asleep. A new day of adventure was awaiting him.
